Surprise, Warhammer Classics has revived well over 20 games spanning three decades in a massive new Steam collection, with many of them hitting the platform for the first time. And the best part is that they’re out now.
The publisher describes the initiative as a “new label in classic video game preservation,” and to that end Warhammer Classics includes 27 total games, with seven coming to Steam for the very first time and 12 simply returning to the store. All 27 games are discounted and available in different bundles to celebrate their launch week, too.

“Each debut and returning title has been updated for compatibility with modern systems, ensuring smooth performance on today’s hardware while maintaining the original gameplay experience that made them beloved by fans,” a press release explains

“Warhammer Classics is more than a collection of re-releases,” SNEG director Oleg Klapovskiy says in the press release. “It’s a clear statement of intent: that Warhammer’s foundational games matter, and that they are worth preserving, celebrated, and reintroduced to a global PC audience. With so many titles lost to time and outdated hardware, Warhammer Classics was created to safeguard this legacy for future generations. Warhammer has a long history on PC, and we’re committed to ensuring the platform remains central to its long-term stewardship, giving these games renewed life for years to come.”
Some of the older classics in the collection – looking at you, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate and Rites of War – had actually been given a second life years ago thanks to GOG, but having them open to a bigger audience can only be a good thing.
All returning games have also apparently been restored in their original state. Interestingly, the Games Workshop warns that “because of their classic nature, some of the content may not accurately reflect current depictions, lore, or presentation within the current Warhammer universes and settings.”
