Idols Of Ash review – a terrific spelunking horror game that makes you choose between a rock and a giant centipede
Idols of Ash reviewA brief, delightfully freaky blend of cyclopean architecture and freefall, with unlockable modes and maps for speedrunners. Developer: Leafy Games Publisher: Leafy Games Release: April 9th, 2026 On: Windows From: Steam, Itch.io Price: £2.12/€2.52/$2.39 Reviewed on: Intel Core-i7 12700F, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060, Windows 11 When I think of Idols of Ash, I think of seven sounds, listed here in order of deepening dreadfulness. The first and nicest sound is the clink of my silvery grapple sinking its hook, interrupting the rush of air past my ears as I fall. That’s the second, less nice…
How do you fast travel in Windrose? It can take a little while to find your feet on that starting island; there are trees to cut down, rocks to smash, and more than a few dodos to fight. Eventually, though, you’ll begin to branch out, exploring other islands and settlements, and unless you want to sail everywhere, you’ll need to know how to fast travel. There are a couple of ways to fast travel in Windrose, but like many crafting games, you’ll have to put a bit of work in before you can set up your network. Eventually, though, you’ll…

Bloodborne on PC remains a pipe dream, but the newly announced movie at least means taking your mouse and keyboard to the cinema is an option
Bloodborne. It’s still not on PC and doesn’t look to be getting a remake which might bring it to PC any time soon. There is some good news, though. Sony have announced an animated film adaptation of the game about crimson juice and goths in hats is in the works.
Everybody loves free things – especially free PC games. To celebrate the reveal of Graveyard Keeper 2, publisher tinyBuild made the first game free for an entire weekend, leading to a surge of fresh faces and a new, all-time player peak. But is there any real monetary advantage to giving your game away for free? The answer, according to tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik, is yes. On Sunday, April 12, Graveyard Keeper hit a new peak of 46,305 concurrent players, dwarfing its 17k launch count. It’s seen spikes at around 9k and 7k post-launch, but nothing quite like this. As a…
Pokemon Center tackles resellers with 'Early Access' for cards, merch, and more, and it's about bloody time
The official Pokemon Center is taking steps to tackle resellers and high demand with a brand-new ‘Early Access’ system that offers fans a chance to grab popular merch, cards, and accessories before anyone else.Unveiled over the weekend, the Pokemon Center Early Access system “allows selected customers an opportunity to purchase popular items before they are more widely released.” These can be anything from plushies to Pokemon cards, and considering how quickly must-have releases sell out (finding one of the best card games in stock is… well, “tough” may be an understatement), that’s encouraging. Crucially, all you need to do is…

Subnautica 2's Steam page no longer lists Krafton as publisher, and some weird tags have been removed
The Subnautica 2 drama has, perhaps, been one of the most high-profile cases in a long time. After publisher Krafton confirmed that it was moving towards an AI-first development approach, we saw the surprise replacement of key members of the Unknown Worlds staff team, including co-founders Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, as well as president Ted Gill. Krafton claimed that “the former leadership abandoned the responsibilities entrusted to them,” claiming that Cleveland was distracted by a “personal film project” and that “the absence of core leadership resulted in repeated confusion in direction and significant delays in the overall project schedule.”…
