Embark are testing kernel-level anti-cheat in Arc Raiders to help put a stop to its ongoing cheating problem
If a popular multiplayer game exists, it has a cheating problem. This is almost always a guarantee, it’s just about the ways in which a studio chooses to handle this problem. So far, Embark Studios don’t seem to have done a perfect job in doing so with Arc Raiders, but they’ve now at least outlined their plans for how they’re going to approach cheating. Explaining in a blog post, Embark write, “Our anti-cheat stack combines kernel-level protection from Easy Anti-Cheat with detection capabilities powered by machine-learning (ML) models, trained on a constant flow of player telemetry. Several additional…
If sifting through sand for shiny shells sounds like your dream day job, you’re in for a treat: these new Shell codes can keep the latest Roblox grind running at a reasonable pace with free rolls, charms, pearls, and more. Shell follows in the footsteps of a particular Roblox title near and dear to our hearts: 2024’s smash-hit collection game, Fisch. Instead of jetting off through the oceans to find rare and exotic creatures to show off and sell for cold, hard cash, you search along quaint beaches for discarded exoskeletons – the former homes of snails, oysters, clams, and…

The producer of the Mortal Kombat 2 movie has called out critics who gave it a negative review. At the time of writing, Mortal Kombat 2 has a score of 73% on film review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, and a score of 48 on Metacritic. While this means reviews have generally been mixed, the film’s producer Todd Garner took to X to criticise those who wrote negative reviews, suggesting that some of them were written by critics who aren’t familiar with the source material.“Some of these reviews are cracking me up,” Garner wrote. “It’s clear they have never played the game and…

It’s been four years since Yacht Club Games last put out a game, and 12 years since Shovel Knight first launched. In those years, their entire output has been completely Shovel Knight focused, in the form of either expansions or spin-offs. Back in 2022, they announced something new: Mina the Hollower. And after an indefinite delay, the Zelda-ish action adventure game has a release date. That date is soon, actually, as it’s arriving on May 29th, just a few weeks away. It will also only be $20, a very reasonable sounding amount of funds to part with for…

Brigador Killers mixes GTA and Syndicate to make a cyberpunk sandbox where you build your own insurgency
In the original Brigador, you played a mercenary mech pilot dropped onto the corporate autocratic colony world of Novo Solo. In the cockpit of a multi-story death machine, you could carve an easy path through the space colony’s buildings and defenders. If they were to put up any fight against you, it was by amassing in great numbers. The tables are turned in Brigador Killers; you’re part of the hit team seeking revenge for the massacre on Novo Solo. But, instead of being armed with a two-story mech, I had to make do with a tuk-tuk.
One of Escape From Tarkov’s top devs has left Battlestate Games. Lead Game Designer Jean Tyulegenov revealed on Twitter that, after nearly a decade, his time at the studio had “come to an end.” Though it’s currently unclear what Tyulegenov’s next venture will be, I’m assuming it must be something pretty exciting for him to up sticks from the FPS game and move on. Tyulegenov’s farewell message, posted to X, thanks Battlestate head Nikita Buyanov “for the exciting challenges and for the incredible project we built together.” Having joined Battlestate in 2017 as a Game Designer, it only took Tyulegenov…
