Demacia Rising was, in theory, the perfect League of Legends minigame for me. Part turn-based strategy game part city builder, it followed a young Lux on her adventures in the eponymous Demacia. It acted as a great little lore dump, giving you some info on both the blue and gold city and the constant, impending threat of Noxus. As you progressed you built up your army, conquered settlements, and set about expanding out Demacia’s territory. You had to balance your resources and manage your time in order to optimize the city’s growth, while simultaneously crushing anyone who stood in your…
Diablo 4 alone makes this $15 game bundle worth it, so with one of the best JRPGS of the last decade and 6 other games it's unbeatable
As someone with way too many games in my backlog, I’m always hesitant to recommend game bundles that’ll inevitably collect virtual dust on your hard drive, but I regret to say I’ve stumbled across one that would feel downright irresponsible not to flag.Over on Humble Bundle, where these kinds of predicaments often arise, there’s an offer that gets you Diablo 4 and Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, not to mention six other acclaimed games, for $15. That’s a dangerously tempting deal made all the more ominous by the fact that you could easily spend 200 hours on Diablo 4 and…
With Mixtape out today, the tiny number of coming of age games gets just that little bit bigger
A couple of years ago, The Artful Escape devs Beethoven & Dinosaur announced their next game, Mixtape. It caught my eye at the time in no small part to having an art style that actually looks like Something as opposed to the vast sea of realism simulators out there. In particular, I was fond of its choppy, post-Into-the-Spiderverse animation, and the licensed music soundtrack, despite being very dad-core (maybe even grandad-core for some of you, at this point), did it some favours for me too. Now, it’s out! And brings up a pertinent point about genre. Bear in…

There’s far more on offer here, with nine rare workbench upgrades headlining the new Rust patch notes. Steam’s most beloved survival game also now boasts a refreshed vending machine UI to make trades smoother, along with improvements to the likes of tin can alarms and grenades. Amberspire reviewAn elegant, jarring and entrancing boardgame about dicing with an alien moon for the soul of a city.Developer: Lunar Division Publisher: Bithell Games Release: May 6th 2026 On: Windows From: Steam Price: $22.50/£18/€22.50 Reviewed on: Intel Core-i7 12700F, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060, Windows 11 The key thing to know about Amberspire is that it isn’t a city-builder in the SimCity sense, but a turn-based boardgame puzzler in which you don’t so much ‘build’ a city as you do manage a tumult of unpredictable, city-flavoured agencies. Created by Lunar Division, developers of The Banished Vault, it takes place…
Valorant's Neon is going to Riot jail due to a bug, and she's coming back next patch a changed agent
Oh my God! Okay, it’s happening, everybody stay calm. Riot Games is finally, finally tackling the Neondemic that’s been sweeping Valorant. Sprint, slide, Judge to the face could be about to become a thing of the past, but the studio has yet to dish out the details on what it’s got in store for the speedster on the upcoming Patch 12.09. What we do know for now is that she’s being locked away for the remainder of the current patch due to a game-breaking bug, which honestly is great news for all involved. Well, except Neon players. As shared by…

Dragon Quest creator believes AI can make JRPG characters "feel even more human" and "listen to people's concerns with empathy," hopes to add it to "other series too"
Square Enix is working with Google on a chatbot themed around the Dragon Quest series that’ll deploy as a feature in the tenth mainline installment, and the JRPG franchise’s creator is optimistic about the possibilities of AI altogether.Yuji Horii, father and longtime developer of the Dragon Quest games, spoke about the technology during this year’s Google Cloud Next conference. As reported by Toyo Keizai, and translated by Automaton, he said AI is “not just a convenient tool, but a friend to each individual player.”The tool in question in this case is called Oshaberi Slimey, or Chatty Slimey, and will apparently…
