If you’ve been eyeing up Kingdom Come: Deliverance, this would be a good week to finally dive in. Not only is the game heavily reduced at the moment, but a portion of money from every copy sold for the next week will go towards preserving an iconic and very real location from the RPG.
To make sure I’m not burying the lede here, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is currently 80% off as part of the Steam Medieval Fest. That’s already an amazing deal, because it’s a role-playing adventure with hours upon hours of gameplay, as you roam around the Kingdom of Bohemia on protagonist Henry’s personal quest for vengeance.
But besides being a strong price for an excellent game, $1 from every purchase until April 26 is being donated to preservation efforts for Pirkštejn Castle, a prominent setting in the game and Henry’s eventual homestead. Those who’ve played can tell you, a considerable amount of the plot involves the castle, and you grow quite familiar with it through the narrative.

🏰 Pirkštejn Castle. You know it as your home in the first KCD but now it needs some help. Reconstruction work is already underway, and during the Steam Medieval fest, we will donate $1 for each copy of the KCD1 base game sold. 📷If you’ve not played yet, or know someone… pic.twitter.com/SuKDd9QV1fApril 20, 2026
Considerable reconstruction is happening to the structure, which has stood since the 1350s – making it close to 700 years old – and this kind of architectural work is often as costly as it is necessary. In its dedication to preserving history, developer Warhorse Studios felt a need to contribute, by whatever means possible.
“This initiative is more than a fundraiser, it’s a continuation of a long-standing relationship,” Warhorse Studios says in a Steam update. “During the development of the first game, local partners, including the Sázava Monastery, provided invaluable access and historical insight. Since then, the area has become a destination for fans from around the world.”
If you have a few extra shekels, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is 50% off, too. You can get both games for less than the sequel’s full price, letting you contribute to their heritage, and giving you some savings to keep for your own holiday to visit this castle for yourself. Win, win, win.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 chief “really proud” of LGBT Gayming Awards nom, insists Henry and Hans’ gay romance isn’t “woke” like other RPGs.
