Increasing your max Heroes Olden Era mana is an important step to making your chosen Hero as powerful as possible. After all, it may look like they stand on the sidelines, but any extra attacks you can get out of your Hero will significantly bolster your army – and could be the difference between a win and a devastating loss.
Of course, the more mana you have in the strategy game, the more spells you can use, but you’ll also need to make sure you mana is full before entering battle, so here’s everything you need to know about Heroes Olden Era mana.
How to increase max mana in Olden Era

Whether you want a fighter or a sorcerer, every hero can and should utilize magic in some way, no matter which of the Heroes Olden Era Factions they come from. While increasing the size and might of your army is crucial to success in Heroes Olden Era, using spells can really set you apart from the enemy. In fact, I’ve been dominated countless times by foes with more mana than me, which begs the question: how do you get more?
Well, knowledge equals mana in Heroes Olden Era, with each point of knowledge adding 10 to your max mana. Increase your knowledge, increase your max mana.

You can increase your knowledge and mana in a few ways in Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era, but they’re all on locations around the map. Remember, these maps are procedurally generated, so I can’t guarantee where and when you’ll find them, but here’s what you’re looking for:
- Whispering Stones – +50% maximum mana.
- Knowledge Garden – Permanently increases each visiting Hero’s Knowledge by 1.
- Living Maze – Permanently increases each visiting Hero’s chosen attribute by 2.
- Four Scholar’s Observatory – Permanently increases each visiting Hero’s Spell Power or Knowledge by 2 for 1,000 Gold.
- Mountain Monastery – Permanently increases each visiting Hero’s Attack, Defence, Spell Power, and Knowledge by 1 for 5,000 Gold.

If possible, visit Knowledge Gardens and Living Mazes before Whispering Stones, as this will increase the benefit you get from the Stones. That said, don’t forget you have limited movement each day, so unless you can see one of the other structures nearby, using Whispering Stones when you see them is still better than not using them at all.
How to refill Olden Era mana

Mana isn’t automatically regenerated each battle, and it only partially restores each day, so you’ll need to keep this in mind as you fight and as you travel. Be careful not to use mana when it’s not needed, and when you do need to replenish your mana, you need to visit Wells, which fully restore each visiting Hero’s mana. Again, to get the most out of wells, be careful to only use them you really need to.
Mana is also required to use some of the best Heroes Olden Era skills, including those you need to reach elite class, so check out my guide to all of that, too.
