Call up your friend and streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, because he’s been proven at least a tiny bit correct. Arc Raiders has officially won a Game of the Year award.Earlier this year, Shroud expressed his disappointment for the fact that Arc Raiders – which launched on October 30, 2025 – barely had any time to prove it could measure up to rewards show conqueror Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. He said in a January stream, “There’s just not enough time – three weeks, four weeks is not enough time to process how good a game actually is.” But now that Arc…

While Castlevania has thrived on Netflix, its gaming side has atrophied. Its last new title was 2014’s third-person Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, although as part of Konami’s fragmented reboot, you would have to go all the way back to 2009 to find the series’ last mainline entry. In the interim, we’ve had nothing but light touch remasters – which is why the reaction to Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, an all-new 2D entry being developed by Motion Twin (Dead Cells) and Evil Empire (The Rogue Prince of Persia), could be measured on the Richter scale.I’m one of the many fans going…

It turns out all it takes to make one of the most influential RPGs of all time is a team of developers who just want to make each other laugh. That was my takeaway from a recent Game Informer interview with original Fallout co-creators Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, as well as Interplay co-founder Brian Fargo.Reminiscing about the very conception of Fallout, which was originally intended to be a sequel to Interplay’s Wasteland, Cain said a lot of the team’s original ideas for the game were simply intended to spark a positive reaction from the other developers. You may like “You…

You can now get Capcom’s survival-horror classics Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on Steam, and they’re currently at a deep discount to celebrate. It’s been a full year since the pair arrived on GOG, but their appearance on the Valve store is still a welcome one. Coming in at just five bucks each thanks to a 50% sale, both are an easy recommendation, although there are a few caveats if you’re buying here. Where the first Dino Crisis is more of a traditional survival horror game in the vein of the Resident Evil series, Dino Crisis 2 is my…

Blizzard pulled what seemed like a grisly stunt nearly 3 years ago by giving away a Diablo 4 gaming PC “infused with real human blood” as part of community blood drive – but the guy who won the computer doesn’t think it was a “stunt” at all. To him, a streamer with the username Storms888, it’s a miracle.Storms888 tells Nathan Grayson at Aftermath in a new interview that “the PC is virtually perfect.” It doesn’t even seem to have stained his carpet at all. It’s just like any other gaming computer with an Nvidia 4090 graphics card and Intel 14900k…

Notch another win for game preservation, as a Mass Effect fan has uncovered a prototype version of the cut mission that became the Bring Down the Sky DLC. It represents an extremely specific slice of the legendary RPG’s development history, but for those of us who’ve been waiting nearly a decade for Mass Effect 5, any look at “new” content is sweet manna.Oddly, this story starts with a YouTube comment. Back in 2010, Mass Effect composer Sam Hulick posted a track from an unreleased piece of DLC, offering no insight into what the expansion was meant to be. But a…

Apex Legends just dropped a roadmap for the next 12 months, detailing not only what’s just arrived in Season 28, but teasing new content as far ahead as Season 32. Thirty. Two. Seasons. How the time flies… Anyway, it’s a rare and unexpected look into the far future from Respawn Entertainment – while it’ll always hype up the content in an upcoming season, it’s rare to see the studio outlining what’s coming in subsequent ones. Two new legends, character and class reworks, overhauls to looting, and more can be spotted on this new roadmap, and while there’s nothing massively unexpected,…

Hitman developer IO Interactive has always seemed like an ideal studio for a 007 adaptation, for reasons that probably don’t need specifying here. That said, IO has long been transparent about not wanting 007: First Light to simply be a Hitman game starring James Bond. The studio has also made clear its next game won’t be an Uncharted-style action game, either – even if it really looks like one – making it something of an open question exactly what style of gameplay is to be expected.Talking to Game Informer, Gameplay director Andreas Krogh compared 007: First Light’s approach to stealth…

Corsair has officially revealed that it has steadily been reworking the packaging for Corsair Vengeance RAM, replacing cardboard boxes with clear plastic to help prevent theft. The new DDR5 packaging lets buyers see the RAM modules without opening the pack and means that fraudulent returns can be more easily detected, too. Corsair already packages its best gaming RAM modules in clear plastic clamshells, but these are then put inside a completely opaque cardboard box. With the new packaging, the clamshell is left visible, with just a small band of cardboard wrapped around the middle for branding, specs, and other information.…
