Despite some debunking from James Gunn, it looks like Adria Arjona is playing Maxima in Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow after all.
The announcement comes from Variety, who were one of the outlets that reported that Arjona, among other actors, had screen-tested for the role. Gunn shot down the screen-testing report, which listed Marisa Abela, Ella Purnell, and Arjona as finalists. Even more curious is the fact that Gunn has previously stated that Arjona would make a great Wonder Woman, but the Amazonian warrior has yet to be cast in the new DCU.

Arjona is perhaps best known for playing Bix Caleen, the bad-ass heroine of the Star Wars TV series Andor. She also starred alongside Glen Powell in the well-received Netflix action comedy Hit Man, and played Martine Bancroft in Morbius (and was the absolute best part of the movie). Arjona can be seen next in The Thomas Crown Affair and horror-thriller Onslaught, and is currently filming erotic thriller Scorn alongside Kingsley Ben-Adir.
