Diablo 4’s upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion has been rated for Nintendo Switch by an Indonesian ratings board, hinting at a potential handheld port.
This is from the same Indonesia Game Rating System purportedly behind the recent 007: First Light and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake leaks. However, in this case it’s not so much a leak as publicly available information. You can see the rating for yourself right here, complete with a general description for Diablo 4 and ‘Nintendo Switch’ listed clearly as a platform alongside PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
While this is far from official confirmation, Diablo and Nintendo have a long history. Diablo 3 was a massive hit on Nintendo Switch when that version released back in 2018, and Diablo 2 Resurrected, the beautiful HD remaster of the iconic 2000 ARPG, launched on Switch at the same time as every other platform in 2021. It would absolutely make sense for Diablo 4 to make a similar move, although I’d be somewhat surprised if it released on the original Switch and is more likely to be new-gen exclusive.

That said, it is curious that the IGRS only rates it for the original Nintendo Switch instead of Switch 2, as searching the body’s official website yields results specific to each console and often lists the two consoles as separate entities.
Lord of Hatred is Diablo 4’s second big expansion after 2024’s excellent Vessel of Hatred (sensing a theme?). Releasing on April 28, Lord of Hatred will officially add the new Paladin class, although that’s been available in the base game to anyone who pre-orders the expansion. A second new class, the Warlock, which surprise-dropped into Diablo 2 Resurrected back in February, will finally arrive in Diablo 4 with Lord of Hatred, alongside a new questline, endgame activities, and gameplay updates.
Diablo 4 game director admits it’s “really hard for players to keep up” with the ever-changing ARPG, especially if you aren’t “at the cutting edge of everything all the time”
