Well, this is unfortunate. An official piece of Supergirl artwork seemingly features an unlikely – and accidental – Star Wars crossover.
The piece from Bilquis Evely, which you can see below, is a beautifully rendered composition of the cast of DC’s Supergirl, closely matching the artist’s work on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic.

However, an alien in the background bears a striking resemblance to something from a galaxy far, far away.
Now, even those with the Jedi Archives tucked away in their brain might not recognize it, but some fans have pointed out that The Last Jedi alien Lexo Sooger is almost a carbon copy of the alien found in the Supergirl art – right down to the hanging necklace.
Before anyone cries foul, it appears that Evely may have crossed wires with their references. A snapshot of the actual alien from Supergirl shows there is a similarity, but it’s unclear how or why the Canto Bight creature made it in instead.
As you may have guessed from the piece, Supergirl is going to be the DCU’s most (literally) out of this world adventure yet.
Starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin will embark on a revenge quest among the stars, with a young girl in tow and the ticking clock of a poisoned Krypto weighing heavy on the Kryptonian’s conscience.
Alcock has teased that Supergirl will be a more flawed female figure than fans are used to seeing in comic book movies, saying at a virtual press conference attended by GamesRadar+: “”You don’t have to be perfect in order to come to some sort of internal self-resolution. I think that we’re kind of thrusted upon this narrative, especially women, that you have to be perfect… I think that Kara is someone who so beautifully leans into her flaws. I think that’s really, really special.”
Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock, Jason Momoa, Eve Ridley, and Matthias Schoenaerts opens in cinemas on June 26.
