As many will attest, Invincible’s animation has taken a noticeable dip since the first season’s electric debut.
Then, Invincible had the benefit of multiple years of pre-production and concept work before hitting our screens. Now, creator Robert Kirkman has been open about slightly shorter turnarounds, and it appears the work has suffered somewhat. But this is by far the most egregious example to date.
Invincible season 4 has been one of peaks and troughs so far. Its Hell-centric episode, an original idea from Kirkman not present in the comics, is among the show’s lowest-rated episodes on IMDb.
But the Prime Video series quickly bounced back with its fifth and seventh episodes reaching close to series highs for Invincible.
Invincible may even make its long-awaited jump to live-action in the future.
“It’s definitely a long process, and it’s something that hopefully will come together sooner rather than later,” Kirkman told ScreenRant earlier this year. At the very least, there won’t be any animation snafus to worry about.
