Sweatlord gamers, listen up: this new controller tracks your heart rate as you play, but it's giving me Wii Fit flashbacks
Anbernic is a brand name you might have heard of in the gaming space if you’ve dabbled in handheld retro consoles. It isn’t one I’d expect to see making a play for our best PC controller list, but it might have just started a new trend I’d love to see other peripheral makers following.Anbernic’s new RG G01 gamepad has a built-in heart rate monitor, which I’ve never seen before in my years of reviewing controllers professionally. More than half of gamedev professionals see GenAI as harmful, according to GDC’s latest survey
GDC have released their 2026 State of the Game Industry report, comprising survey results from thousands of quizzed developers on the craft and business of gamesmaking. As in the 2025 report, this year’s responses signal a growing discontent with generative AI tools, with opposing sentiments tipping into simple majority status for the first time: 52% now say GenAI is having a negative impact on the industry, up from 30% in 2025 and 18% in 2024. Before we start celebrating the moral arc of the universe, this opinion-hardening appears to correlate with neither an overall decrease not increase in the adoption…
Larian boss will weigh his words "more carefully" after backlash, says criticism helped him understand why Baldur's Gate 3 "was sh*t"
Larian Studios founder and CEO Swen Vincke is back again with a reconsidered second statement, following controversy around his previous post discussing the way games are critiqued. Naturally, that means all eyes are on the studio – and Vincke – as it works on new project, Divinity. In his follow-up message, he stresses that he sees “great value in criticism,” but admits his initial take “didn’t land as well as I’d intended.” “I really need…

Star Wars fans have noticed that something about the Inquisitors makes no sense – and now it’s baffling us, too.In the galaxy far, far away, Inquisitors are Force sensitive beings – usually Order 66 survivors – who work to capture other surviving Jedi or Force sensitives for the Empire. We’ve seen a fair few of them in live-action, animation, and across the video games, including the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Marrok in Ahsoka (and soon Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord), and Trilla in Jedi: Fallen Order. You may like But, one fan has taken to…
