"They've ghosted me": Saints Row design director says he believes the series is "dead" after pitching prequel
Make sure the dildos are flying at half mast. Saints Row 1 design director Chris Stockman has said he believes the series is “dead”, following conversations with Embracer Group about his pitch for a prequel. According to the developer, who currently heads VR studio Bit Planet Games, that chatter about a potential Saints Rowssurection post Embracer’s closing of Volition has ended in the publishers ghosting Stockman.
In a world of serious videogames, the Valheim devs' new co-op dungeon crawler is a reminder that having fun is okay
There are two things that are certain in this world: death and taxes. But no one looks forward to either: there’s the finality of the former, and the bank account-draining of the latter. Yet, in Begraved, I came to excitedly anticipate both. Developed by Grip Jaw, which is made up of various members of the Valheim team, I was invited to test out the co-op game’s Steam Next Fest demo. Accompanied by co-founder Emilia Oscarsson, community manager Jade Mcintosh, and, per his LinkedIn, ‘World Weaver’ Robin Eyre (who Mcintosh quickly promoted to ‘sexy bear’ during the two hours we spent…
Marathon's UI is a headache that I fear will send me right back to Arc Raiders – tedious even for Bungie, grandmaster of ridiculous Destiny currencies
Did you know Bungie made Marathon? Not that one, this one, the one currently running a server slam ahead of launch on March 5. The studio’s a Ship of Theseus at this point but you can clearly see Bungie’s DNA in Marathon’s stellar gunplay, superlative soundscape, and retina-hijacking environments. My four hours with the server slam have been fantastic simply from an FPS perspective. Pardon my flowery language: it feels great to shoot guns. But this isn’t a simple shooter. It’s a complicated shooter – an extraction shooter. And it’s in the extraction half that bad habits – revealed to…
Edwin got beat up the other day, so I suppose it’s up to me to ask what everyone’s playing this weekend. No extended joke here. He’s just absolutely battered. In pieces, really. God, that must have been humiliating for him.

A Bloodborne remake could’ve happened at Bluepoint, according to a new report. The now-disbanded Sony subsidiary known for its excellent remakes allegedly pitched a Bloodborne remake last year, which was subsequently shot down by FromSoftware itself. In early 2025, in the wake of the reported cancellation of its live-service God of War game, Bluepoint pitched Sony on a Bloodborne remake, according to Jason Schreier at Bloomberg. The studio was reportedly told that “the numbers made sense” for the project, but original creator FromSoftware didn’t want the project to go forward for unspecified reasons. Resident Evil Requiem is this week's headline PC game but don't forget the Witchers, pirates and pinballs
Happy this week all! It’s time for another Steam Next Fest. A time to stock up on unfinished business. A time to litter your desktop with dead-ends. A time to install 30 game demos and play exactly three of them – unless you are RPS supporter Mr_B, who I think accounts for the majority of Valve’s downloads traffic these days. We’re not doing the whole Wishlisted thing this year due to a chronic shortage of wishfulness brought on by our collective advancing age, but we’ll be writing up the hottest demos as they arrive, in a dramatic departure from our…
Wondering how to solve the puzzle in the Chairman’s Office in RE Requiem? To get the moon quartz for the main door, you need to navigate to the Chairman’s Office and solve the puzzle on the large device in the corner of the room. Here’s how to do it. It’s worth noting, this guide contains minor spoilers. The Chairman’s Office is found in the West Wing in the clinic in Resident Evil Requiem, and you’ll pick up two important items in this room: a ruby to get access to the East Wing keycard and one of the three quartzes you…
The cutest game I've ever played just slapped me in the face with a character death right at the start of its Steam Next Fest demo – and now I have to play more
The Moomins are white sugar creatures plump with visceral fat and love, and Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson built them a perfect world when she created them in 1945. It’s not perfect in the sense that there is no pain – the cow-snouted Moomintrolls are capable of being as unhappy as the rest of us – but tragedy usually comes with a lesson. Life is unpredictable, but nature isn’t always, and it’s this philosophy that punches me in the nose when I play the Steam Next Fest demo for Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth. The cozy puzzle adventure Winter’s Warmth is the spiritual sequel…
