What does the Byrdonis Egg do? Most of the time in Slay the Spire 2, you want to pick up items that help right now, because adding bulk to your deck often also adds problems. If you have cards you cannot use against an enemy, well, that can be a recipe for disaster. There are items in STS2, however, like the Byrdonis Egg, that can pay off big time later if you know what to do. All of the Slay the Spire 2 characters have a different playstyle, and you will want to build them in a certain way, but…

Website that let Marvel Rivals players pay each other to throw matches pivots to "transparency initiative" after NetEase get mad
Marvel Rivals developers NetEase have introduced new systems for detecting thrown matches. This follows a bizarre wave of people getting bribed to take a fall, instigated by a third-party website who are now advertising themselves as some kind of community advocacy initiative. The website in question is Intlist. They made headlines last week for letting players of various popular games put cash bounties on other players, paid out whenever a player threw a match against the target. Games affected include Counter-Strike 2, Overwatch and Valorant. The impact on Marvel Rivals was severe enough that NetEase posted a rebuke on Twitter,…
Slay The Spire 2 update fixes some spectacular multiplayer bugs, like the relic that gives infinite block
Slay The Spire 2 launched into early access last week to the tune of over half a million Steam concurrents, which isn’t too shabby for a game with placeholder art that looks like it was knocked up in MS Paint. I played a couple runs of the roguelike deckbuilder this weekend, and experienced such positive emotions as Wait, Doesn’t This Basically Break The Game? Delightfully Devilish, Seymour and Oh, I Forgot I Had That Potion. I wouldn’t say I’m bowled over, mind. The original Slay The Spire precipitated a Cambrian explosion of roguelite or roguelike deckbuilders. The sequel…
With a world brimming with magic, dragons, and violence, as well as brutal, combo-focused combat and gorgeous visuals – Crimson Desert is already lining up to be one of my favorite games this year, so long as Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss can nail the launch. Just weeks away from release, I’m really hoping that Crimson Desert can earn a spot on my best RPGs list, and if you’re as excited as I am, you can pre-order it at a discount – and get a free game alongside it. Crimson Desert isn’t out just yet, so we don’t have…

5 years after it was revealed, KOTOR remake is "still in development," Saber boss confirms, as we await any morsel of info on the reimagined BioWare Star Wars RPG
Somehow, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake still lives. That’s according to a new interview with Tim Willits, chief creative officer of publisher Saber Interactive. This is the first official news we’ve gotten about the remake of BioWare’s beloved RPG since it was first unveiled nearly five years ago.”Yes, it is still in development,” Wilits told IGN. “That’s all I can say.” And, indeed, that’s all he did say, choosing not to address the long-percolating rumors – and courtroom testimony – about the KOTOR remake’s troubled development. The KOTOR remake was announced way back in 2021. Developer Aspyr…
Marvel Rivals implements a "Victim Compensation Protocol" for players affected by "malicious match-losing" and people getting paid to throw
Marvel Rivals maker NetEase has detailed a big upgrade for its anti-throwing system, implemented after waves of people started getting paid to deliberately throw and sabotage matches. To quickly rewind, last week, a third-party bounty website began paying players of several popular competitive games to intentionally throw matches. These paid bounties became especially disruptive in Marvel Rivals, prompting NetEase to get involved and the website to eventually stop taking bounties.”Since the launch of our crackdown on ‘Incentivized Throwing’ (malicious match-losing for personal gain), we’ve received an overwhelming amount of feedback and suggestions from the community,” the developer tweets. “Our team is…
