Filming on Amazon's Tomb Raider series has been put on pause after Lara Croft star Sophie Turner sustains injury on set
It sounds as though Lara Croft star Sophie Turner has been hitting the stunts a little too hard, as her recent injury has put production on Amazon’s Tomb Raider series on pause.“Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury,” said Amazon MGM Studios to Deadline. “As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.” Deadline reports that the shutdown is expected to last two weeks. It is unclear whether Turner suffered the injury on the set of the Tomb Raider show. But it wouldn’t be too surprising, as…
"It is meant to be lived in" – grand strategy game Riftborne offers "months" of galactic scheming and no actual graphics
Some people like to ease into the week, as though dipping toes into a frigid northern sea, and some people Monday Hard by wrapping their arms around an iceberg. Are you the latter kind of bather? Try this on for size, then: Riftborne is a real-time sci-fi grand strategy game that’s controlled using an old-fashioned, “terminal-style” interface. Seize your silly computer mouse and feed it unto the dog. Where you’re going, there shall be no drag-selects, cursor animations, right-click menus, and all the rest of that piddly frippery you are accustomed to in these modern SO-CALLED “best strategy games”, with…
"We love punching Nazis," Jeronimo Barrera says. That's why Nekome: Nazi Hunter is all about killing them
“Nekome is a very powerful word,” game director Jeronimo Barrera tells me. “It’s vengeance: spiritual revenge.” Revenge is, perhaps, the most powerful of all emotions. It’s an amalgamation of pure rage; hate – it’s a driving force, yet it’s inherently terrifying. That emotional turmoil is what Nekome: Nazi Hunter seeks to explore; this isn’t a game about happy endings. This is a game about inflicting pain upon those who inflict pain upon others. There are no holds barred here: this is World War II; The Holocaust is happening, people are being murdered. As someone with a degree in War Studies,…

Crimson Desert's latest patch adds new mounts, makes slapping NPCs with trees a crime, and reportedly junks the infamous AI paintings
Pearl Abyss’ bashing of their massive open-world into a more palatable shape continues, with Crimson Desert’s latest patch packing a bunch more tweaks to controls and adding some new animals to ride around on. It also looks to have begun swapping out those AI paintings the studio previously claimed were accidentally left in it on release, though the patch’s wording around this change is fairly vague.

No-one would envy Solasta 2 for having to follow in the footsteps of the all-conquering Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian’s behemoth has set a modern standard for D&D games that any other participants will immediately be compared to. Yet once I lurched myself past a few Early Access wobbles, I found myself completely immersed in the world of Neokos. Developer Tactical Adventures says its sequel remains “faithful to the tabletop experience,” and I’m already in love with the way its map-hopping escapades feel like I’m in a traditional Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a masterful RPG, but one…

Borderlands 4 just got its first story DLC, and you can get the full experience at its lowest price yet
Sometimes cringeworthy humor and a fair share of bugs kept Borderlands 4 from being a critical darling at release, as well as losing a potential spot in our best FPS games list. It’s a solid looter shooter, like the rest of the series, and while a better narrative does make it more enjoyable, it has been plagued with performance woes that dampen the experience. Now, after updates and fixes, it is better than ever – and with a first story DLC and a discount to boot, there’s never been a better time to get started. Borderlands 4 may be the…
