You can now play the Valheim leads' side project – a "cozy & dark" co-op dungeon crawler blending Lethal Company and Phasmophobia with a dash of Animal Crossing – thanks to its new Steam demo
Back in November, a team of Valheim leads quietly announced their new studio Grip Jaw and debut project Begraved, a game billed as a mishmash of Lethal Company, Phasmophobia, and Content Warning, and now you can check out what they’ve been up to yourself.Grip Jaw is a small studio led by Valheim creative director Robin Eyre, and it just released a free demo for Begraved on Steam, giving you the chance to go hands on with what sounds like a pretty interesting concept. Pretty platformer sequel Planet of Lana II gets a pretty good Steam demo tomorrow, ahead of its surprise March release
Planet of Lana II, Wishfully’s followup to their tremendous puzzle-platformer original, punched our news mouths with a double hit of announcements last week. First, it’s got a release date of March 5th 2026, a mere three weeks from now, and second, there’s a Steam demo coming even sooner, on February 11th. An embargo lift means I’m now at liberty to share my thoughts on said demo, and can report that it’s exactly the same as the demo given to press last year, and as such, you can already read what I said about it here and here. Still, eh? Release…

Spider-Noir TV creators explain why Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man is "jaded" Ben Reilly instead of "boyish" Peter Parker
Spider-Noir showrunner Oren Uziel and producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller say there’s a very good reason why Nicolas Cage is playing Ben Reilly instead of classic Spider-Man Peter Parker in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming Spider-Noir streaming series. As it turns out, it all comes back to the need for the show to have the same hardboiled feel as classic film noir shows, with Peter representing a level of optimism that Spider-Noir doesn’t have.”This character’s very different from the Peter Parker from the movies. He’s older and jaded, and not afraid to punch a guy in the face drunkenly,” Miller…

Monster Hunter Wilds is fast approaching its first anniversary, meaning if it were a real human baby it would be legally unable to do anything really because have you met a one year old? Square Enix throws a bone to Xenogears fans on the classic JRPG's 28th anniversary, but with no remake or remaster in sight, folks are behaving exactly as you'd expect: "I'm on my knees here"
February 11 marks the 28th anniversary of the beloved JRPG Xenogears, and Square Enix is offering one tiny crumb of a birthday cake: a single tweet acknowledging the game’s existence. Still, that’s the most official validation Xenogears diehards have gotten in years, and many are already taking the opportunity to beg for a remake. Or a remaster. Or any kind of modern release at all.Square Enix’s tweet is a simple celebration of Xenogears’ legacy, calling it (via machine translation) “a new generation cybernetic RPG that radiates unparalleled originality.” That’s honestly a pretty fair description of the 1998 PS1 game’s reputation,…
Modern classic dungeon crawler board game Descent is getting its first, very TTRPG-sounding, video game adaptation
If you like your board games a little less physical, and a little more not technically a board game any more if we’re being honest but that’s fine because it’s a neat looking, strategy RPG now, then boooooy howdy do I have the game for you! Those familiar with the dungeon crawling tabletop game Descent will be interested to learn that it’s getting a video game adaptation in the form of Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent. Before we press on, I’d just like to say that it’s specifically Terrinoth with the all rights reserved symbol, then it says Heroes…
Romeo is a Dead Man has its fair share of odd things going on, and the fuzzy green balls in the Subspace areas are no exception. They’re called Resonators, and if you can’t figure out what’s going on with them you could find yourself doing what feels like a lot of random twiddling of your stick until they finally let you past.Thankfully, once you know how the Resonators work they’re actually really easy to clear, so once you know what you’re doing you’ll find they’re no problem at all. This guide will tell you what the Resonators do and how to get…
Stranger Things spin-off creator says it's meant to feel like a "lost season" of the main show: "You could easily take this and make it the live-action version"
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 showrunner Eric Robles says the spinoff is meant to feel like a lost season of the flagship show and explain what Mike, Eleven, and co. got up to on their winter break before season 3.”You could easily take this and make it the live-action version,” Robles told Empire. “We wanted to go back to Hawkins and feel like a lost season… when the kids weren’t trying to save the world – they were just trying to save the town.”The animated series takes place between Stranger Things seasons 2 and 3, filling in the gaps and…
