Things go from bad to worse for Denuvo, as every game under its protection has now reportedly been bypassed
Well, it was only a matter of time, I suppose. Following the successful circumnavigation of Denuvo anti-tamper on all non-VR games Irdeto’s DRM protection service provided, it has now been reported that the full catalog has been bypassed. The ball is now even more in Denuvo developer Irdeto’s court, and I can’t help but wonder how the industry will respond long-term. Last week, I reported that Denuvo had been cracked or bypassed in all non-VR games, most of which using the recently-developed Hypervisor bypass. This method isn’t a conventional ‘crack,’ but instead it sits below your PC’s kernel, feeding false…
Take-Two’s CEO has said it “got it wrong” with strategy entry Civilization VII, ahead of a major update that will overhaul one of the game’s most controversial features.Although Civilization VII appeared to chart strongly in the US following its release in February 2025, Take-Two said the game got off to a “slow start,” and engagement currently lags well behind previous entries in the series. And despite mostly favorable reviews from critics, the game has a ‘mixed’ rating on Steam and an unfavorable user score on Metacritic, likely due to its controversial system that requires players to switch civilizations during matches.Speaking to…
Slay the Spire 2 is, quite handily, the most popular game ever made with the Godot engine, but the engine’s operators say it was already comfortably on the rise.In a new report on Godot’s stats going into 2026, lead rendering maintainer Clay John examines the engine’s rise in popularity through a couple of lenses. Some of the data is “a little messy,” he admits, in its reliance on downloads from sites and sources like Github, Steam, and Google Play. But even with some “fragmentation,” the trends are pretty consistent: Godot is gaining installs, downloads, and users.Steam, via SteamDB, provides “the…
Subnautica 2‘s early access will introduce you to a massive squid monster, before the first post-launch update sends you into its lair
Subnautica 2 is finally headed into early access on May 14th, following a lengthy legal battle between publishers Krafton and founders at Unknown Worlds rooted in when that launch should happen. Following that news, Sub 2’s game design lead has spoken a bit about the delay and outlined some plans for the game’s big scary squid, The Collector.
Doom The Dark Ages ray tracing might have killed your frame rate, but at least it saved id 110GB of disk space
id has revealed that, if it hadn’t updated its idtech engine to use ray tracing instead of pre-baked global illumination, Doom: The Dark Ages could have taken far longer to develop and been a much larger install size. The company has claimed that just the pre-baked lighting data for all the game’s maps/environments could have needed as much as 110GB of storage and taken as much as two months to render fully each time. However, by making this change, the company effectively traded storage and its development time for backwards compatibility and your PC’s performance. Doom: The Dark Ages was…
Take-Two says Switch 2 isn’t its ‘primary’ platform, but Borderlands 4 port could still come out
Nintendo Switch 2’s ‘paused’ Borderlands 4 port could still come out and is technically achievable, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested. The Switch 2 version of the Gearbox shooter was unexpectedly delayed last September, a week before its planned release date, with Take-Two confirming it had “paused” development on the game earlier this year. With all pre-orders for the game canceled, it looked like its release might have been called off outright. However, speaking to Game File in a new interview, Take-Two exec Zelnick provided fresh hope Borderlands 4 could yet be released for Switch 2.According to the CEO, the pause on Borderlands…

Kingdom Come devs respond to Lord of the Rings game rumour: "I cannot disclose details but I can tell it is a huge, immersive RPG"
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 developers Warhorse Studios are refusing to confirm or deny a rumour that they’re making a Lord of the Rings game for Embracer. This could indicate one of two things: firstly, they are making a Lord of the Rings game for Embracer. And secondly, they are not making a Lord of the Rings game for Embracer. We can rest assured, at least, that they’re making a “huge, immersive RPG”, in the words of content director Ondrej Bittner. Huge AND immersive? Sounds like Orc mischief to me.
