Total War Medieval 3 is still a blip on the horizon, but developer Creative Assembly has been very proactive in engaging with the community during the early stages of its production. Chief among them is Creative Director Leif Walter, who has regularly appeared in the forums to discuss potential concepts, and how the long-awaited sequel is tackling various aspects core to the strategy game series. Responding to a debate about whether the new entry would adopt skill trees akin to those seen in the likes of Total War Three Kingdoms, Shogun 2, or Attila, he says it’s something the team…
After becoming one of the year's best-rated games, Mixtape devs say it won't ever be removed from sale due to expiring music licenses: "That was a lie"
Basically any game with licensed real-world music or featured car brands or football clubs is in danger of eventually being delisted and removed from sale once those licenses expire, but not Mixtape, because apparently its developers paid for its surprisingly great soundtrack in perpetuity.Mixtape is the new adventure game that follows three high schoolers in the 1990s as they spend their last hours together, fondly remembering all the small moments that made up their adolescence while trying to secure booze for a much-hyped party – and it’s all set to era-appropriate music soundtracking the coming-of-age story and its wonderfully gamey…
As Terraria turns 15, Re-Logic confirms crossplay is "soon" and that "updates will continue beyond 1.4.6"
Terraria is 15 years old this weekend, in just the latest terrifying video game anniversary to make me feel ancient. That’s given developer Re-Logic a moment to reflect on how far it’s come, share a few of its most impressive stats, and note that crossplay is getting close. “That is a long time indeed,” Head of Business Strategy Ted ‘Loki’ Murphy writes. “That’s 131,400 hours – which quite a few of you have chosen to spend with our humble game.” Before we dig more into those numbers, Murphy asks, “Where does the path lead from here? What does the future…
As Terraria sells over 70 million copies, devs are done with promising final updates and say they'll "continue beyond 1.4.6"
After selling more than 70 million copies in its first 15 years, side-scrolling sandbox gem Terraria is done with promising final updates.Developer Re-Logic is celebrating its iconic crafty-survive-athon’s 15th anniversary with some stats, starting off with a humble brag: Terraria’s sold about 70 million copies. PC takes up the largest chunk of the pie as 39.6 million people bought it on the platform, while 10.7 million people bought the game across all consoles and 19.7 people bought it on mobile devices. Not only can Terraria boast about its wild sales stats – seriously, it’s the 7th best-selling game of all time…
There’s nothing quite like brutally killing hordes of demons and receiving an explosion of legendary loot in return. Diablo 4 nails the formula, creating one of the best RPGs for action-loving fanatics like me, while also delivering a much more cinematic story than previous entries. With years of updates, two expansions, and plenty of improvements across the board, it remains one of my favorite time-wasters, and it’s available alongside seven other games this May as part of the Humble Choice subscription from Humble Bundle. That works out as less than $2 each, for reference. I’ve been covering Humble’s bundles and…
New Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update cures permanent Mii sadness, corrupted saves, and residents being so angry they'd fall out of love with their crushes
Although Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream only officially dropped last month, Nintendo is working to iron out the cozy sim’s bugs – and today’s new update offers no exception. In case you missed it, a new Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update landed a few hours ago, and it’s equally as hilarious as it is useful. As per the official announcement and patch details over on Nintendo’s support website, version 1.0.2 targets everything from progression halts to, erm, sugar gliders. The first noted change has to do with softlocking as players build their islands up, for instance – a situation I’m very…

The Sunday Papers is our weekly roundup of great writing about (mostly) videogames from across the web.Sundays are for rooting out clothes moths. The wool-devouring bastards have started cropping up all over my flat. I’ve put traps down but that’s only dealing with the ones which have already hatched and taken flight. I need to work out where they’re coming from. I’ll be taking everything out of drawers and cupboards, searching clothes and towels for signs of nibbling. Then I’ll need to crawl around the edge of each room, looking for casings in the carpet. Moths have followed me from…
The developers behind the Annapurna indie hit, Mixtape, have dismissed claims that the game could be delisted from stores in the future, due to its focus on licensed music.Set in the 1990s and developed by the same team behind the BAFTA-winning The Artful Escape, Mixtape tells the story of three high school friends making their way to their final party, reminiscing about their teenage years.Mixtape prominently features music from artists such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Devo in its design, to the point that the game doesn’t include a streamer mode, allowing creators to safely stream the game.Because many similar games are often…
Ahsoka is "the centerpiece" of Dave Filoni's "work as a storyteller," and he's "giving a lot of thought to how Ahsoka fits into the overall, overarching" Star Wars "continuity," says Jon Favreau
While Ahsoka season 2 might not be coming until 2027, there’s still plenty to get excited about. The show will pick up the story of Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan in the aftermath of season 1’s cliffhanger, which saw Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stranded on Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger escaped home. The Mandalorian and Grogu director Jon Favreau has previously revealed he has seen all of Ahsoka season 2, after the original plan for The Mandalorian season 4 was to help set up Dave Filoni’s show.Latest Videos From You may like When we met with Favreau in London…
