In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. In the okay dimness of the near future, we have Dawn of War 4 – the near, near future, it turns out. The storied RTS series has returned, and with Warhammer Skulls in full swing, we now have a release date, as well as a roadmap of its content for the following year. We here at PCGN are known Dawn of War enjoyers; our DoW 3 review got a solid 8/10, with Robert going on record saying that it “is a game of big, meaty encounters and twitch-quick…

A new Helldivers 2 Legendary Warbond was announced at the big Warhammer Skulls fest today, and wouldn’t you know it, Warhammer 40,000 reinforcements are stepping in to help with the galactic war.Helldivers 2 game director Mikael Eriksson, who says developer Arrowhead is full of Warhammer nerds, shared the news. The Helldivers elevator pitch to “liberate the galaxy from evil, oppressive aliens threatening our way of life” via extreme violence is an oddly perfect match for Warhammer, which is no stranger to souped-up, death-dealing soldiers or alien extinction.”We are beyond thrilled to see this Legendary Warbond come to life,” Eriksson says.…

There is a fight boiling over in Silent Hill – not for love, lust, nor the pendulous future of your sinner’s soul, but over pop legend Madonna and how much she influenced the horror franchise’s 2001 sequel. Silent Hill 2 artist art director is adamant the answer is barely at all.A popular Twitter post says facetiously that Madonna’s music video for 1998 anthem ‘Nothing Really Matters’ was “inspiration for the atmosphere of silent hill 2 so technically we have madonna to thank for the perfection that is silent hill 2.” They’re referencing a deleted post Ito made in 2019 naming…

Finally, a game developer who agrees with my fervently held view that new technology makes everything worse. Celebrated designer Clint Hocking – him wot worked on Far Cry 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Watch Dogs Legion, and the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe – has publicly opined that realistic modern lighting has made life trickier for stealth game creators, because realistic lighting conditions are harder to lurk in. Now you tell me! “I actually think one of the difficulties with modern stealth games is the sophistication in the rendering has made lighting so much more realistic,” Hocking told FRVR in…

It’s official: Warhammer 40k Darktide’s new class is, in fact, the Adeptus Mechanicus’ Skitarii. My good friend Ben called it back in October 2025 based on a single teaser trailer alone, and wherever he is right now, I can feel him grinning. The Machine God’s favorite toasters will enter the fray this June, with an impressive arsenal of weapons and upgrades that are nothing to smirk at. You’ll be playing as a Skitarii Alpha Primus squad that’s been tasked, somewhat unsurprisingly, with helping to eradicate the hordes that are attempting to overtake Atoma Prime – that’s the name of the…

Back in 2024, I wrote about a group of Baldur’s Gate 3 modders who were dead set on giving Wyll the same level of depth and attention Larian’s RPG dotes on the likes of Shadowheart and Astarion. They dubbed their efforts the “Wyll Cinematic Universe”, and kicked off by adding a new romance scene for the Blade of Frontiers to the game’s third act. Now, their work looks to have culminated in a substantial revamp of Wyll’s companion quest surrounding his pact with evil demon lady Mizora, giving him more agency to make his own decisions as to whether he…
