GTA 6 isn't getting delayed again, Take-Two confirms, but those Best Buy pre-order rumors are bunk, marketing to ramp up this summer
GTA 6 has been delayed a couple of times already, which naturally softens the concreteness of its current release date, but publisher Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed that the massively anticipated game is still due out on November 19 as previously revealed. That said, recent rumors that Best Buy would soon open pre-orders are reportedly false, as Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested marketing for the game will begin in earnest this summer. The latest bit of bunk churned from the rumor mill claimed GTA 6 pre-orders were going live this week at US-based retailer Best Buy, with reports citing leaked affiliate…
‘Yes, we are making the definitive Modern Warfare’ Infinity Ward teases the upcoming Call of Duty
Infinity Ward studio heads Mark Grigsby and Jack O’Hara have posted a message to social media ahead of the reveal of the next Modern Warfare game.“We are Infinity Ward. We build visceral, immersive combat experiences that hit different,” opens the letter posted to social media and the Infinity Ward website. Grigsby and O’Hara are veterans of the Call of Duty franchise, with Grigsby working on the series as far back as Call of Duty 2, which was released in 2005.“As a new chapter begins for this studio, we’re focused on what defines us: passion, precision, obsession, and an unrelenting drive to…
Former Destiny 2 writer says "it turns out the real Destiny killer" was CEO Pete Parsons as players pray for Destiny 3
As fans sift through the ashes following Bungie’s announcement that Destiny 2 is ending active development, former Bungie writer Robert Brookes summarizes a sentiment percolating in the game’s community: “It turns out the real Destiny killer was Pete Parsons.”Brookes was laid off from Bungie in July 2024 – one of hundreds of employees impacted as the studio made multiple deep cuts. Previously, he wrote at the time, he’d been “delivering seasonal story from Hunt all the way to Deep and sending home the most well-received expansion in our history in Final Shape.”Reacting to today’s development shutdown, Brookes minces no words…
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced creative director explains why the modern-day scenes are gone
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s creative director has explained why the modern-day scenes from the original game are missing from the remake. In the early games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, players would split their time between playing as a historical assassin and modern-day sequences, which centred around a mysterious company named Abstergo. In more recent entries, these sequences have been phased out, a change that has split the Assassin’s Creed fanbase. In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, players are hired by Abstergo Entertainment to examine the memories of Edward Kenway. One of the reasons the player is tasked to do this is…
Former Dying Light lead says devs have an "obligation" to listen to player feedback even if "they're very often wrong"
Tymon Smektała is proud to say he helped developer Techland establish a reputation for truly listening to its players. After operating as Dying Light’s franchise director for 13 years – the gaming vet recently stepped away from the zombie-slayer horror series – Smektała knows the customer is… not necessarily always right, but they need to be heard. There’s no other option in the video game business, which relies on hordes of other people to take your art seriously enough to make it part of their routine – after work, before dinner, as the basis of their Twitter arguments, and so on.…
Warhammer 40K: Boltgun 2 wants to recapture the first game's "lightning in a bottle," and after playing two levels I think it already has
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 understands the primal joy of pixelated carnage. I’ve been playing two levels from the upcoming FPS sequel, and I’m not sure I could have stopped playing if I wanted to. There’s a rhythmic compulsion to sending cultists to their doom by shooting the ice beneath them, and the click-click-click of hitmarkers – particularly while melting hordes of demons with a flamer – is trancelike. All of this happens at 1000 miles per hour, as I’m playing Boltgun 2’s new protagonist. Battle Sister Nyra Veyrath is quicker and nimbler than the first game’s Malum Caedo (although you can…
Dawn of War 4 now has a release date and a roadmap, with Crusade Mode making a much-awaited comeback
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. In the okay dimness of the near future, we have Dawn of War 4 – the near, near future, it turns out. The storied RTS series has returned, and with Warhammer Skulls in full swing, we now have a release date, as well as a roadmap of its content for the following year. We here at PCGN are known Dawn of War enjoyers; our DoW 3 review got a solid 8/10, with Robert going on record saying that it “is a game of big, meaty encounters and twitch-quick…
A new Helldivers 2 Legendary Warbond was announced at the big Warhammer Skulls fest today, and wouldn’t you know it, Warhammer 40,000 reinforcements are stepping in to help with the galactic war.Helldivers 2 game director Mikael Eriksson, who says developer Arrowhead is full of Warhammer nerds, shared the news. The Helldivers elevator pitch to “liberate the galaxy from evil, oppressive aliens threatening our way of life” via extreme violence is an oddly perfect match for Warhammer, which is no stranger to souped-up, death-dealing soldiers or alien extinction.”We are beyond thrilled to see this Legendary Warbond come to life,” Eriksson says.…
