The Odyssey popcorn bucket has arrived… and it’s just as magnificent as I thought it would be.
Fans of Homer’s epic (hi) figured The Odyssey popcorn bucket would either be a) Odysseus’s helmet or b) the Trojan Horse. The latter makes perfect sense given that Christopher Nolan’s fantasy action-drama adapts both The Odyssey and The Iliad, the latter of which tells the story of the Trojan War and introduces the infamous Trojan Horse. The official Twitter account for the movie shared a Trojan Horse-shaped popcorn bucket that opens and closes in the middle to safely store your popcorn (or sneak your entire army behind enemy lines, whichever). You can check it out below.

Nolan directs from a screenplay he adapted himself, drawing mainly from the 2017 translation of Homer’s epic by British-American classicist Emily Wilson… and I really just need him to take one photo smiling while holding up the popcorn bucket for posterity.
The absolutely stacked cast includes Tom Holland as Telemachus, son of Matt Damon’s Odysseus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Odysseus’s wife and Telemachus’s mother, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, one of Penelope’s suitors, Zendaya as the goddess Athena, Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy, Jon Bernthal as her husband Menelaus, John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Odysseus’s faithful servant, and Benny Safdie as his brother and leader of the Greek army Agamemnon.
The Odyssey arrives this July 17. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the upcoming movies in 2026 and beyond, or, check out our list of movie release dates.
