There’s a new hero in Overwatch, Sierra, and naturally, players are diving right in to figure her out. First impressions are coming in across the community, and the general vibe is she packs a punch with her ult, but otherwise doesn’t feel all that satisfying to play – at least, not yet.
Starting with her ultimate attack, it involves a missile-firing drone. It does 180 damage, the radius per bomb is up to three meters, and there are 23 bombs fired in total. This, paired with the cost of 1800 points, makes for a lethal concoction that people have immediately noticed.

“In my opinion, it’s not a healthy design. It’s too quick and too wide,” another commenter on Reddit points out. “The room for counter play is slim for some characters. Some characters with no mobility just can’t escape it.”
Besides these concerns about Sierra’s ult, players aren’t loving her playstyle, which is centered on mid-range offense, primarily using her assault rifle. “Her mobility feels clunky and her power budget goes too heavily into her ultimate and grenade. Half the time it feels like I’m better off not even using the auto aim and just spamming down main,” a player on Reddit states.
“I wish her kit worked together better, it feels [a] little scrambled. I wish her bomb sent her primary fire everywhere like a needle grenade but if someone’s marked it homes on them,” another Redditor adds. It’s still early days, and people are calibrating, but nerfs and buffs may both be on the way for Sierra if this feedback continues.
And, to be fair, that would follow Blizzard’s typical approach to Overwatch. Season 2 has just kicked off, yes, though we’re likely to see a mid-season update that’ll work out the kinks, and I imagine Sierra will be on that list. For now, though, try and not get stuck in her ultimate.
