Turns out we did have a Nintendo Direct this week, except it was in the form of the ESRB and the Taiwan ratings board publishing a bunch of listings for Switch 2 games – seemingly including a new version of Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5.
Ratings board leaks are nothing new – in the last 12 months alone we’ve had the likes of Life is Strange Reunion, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero on the Nintendo Switch 2, and Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition all come to fruition after ratings leaked early. Earlier this week, the Korean ratings board seemingly leaked Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, but today the floodgates have opened for Switch 2 as prominent leaker Nate The Hate shared claims about a bunch of planned Nintendo releases, amid other ratings board shenanigans. So basically, we probably know all of the next Nintendo Direct by now.
Taiwan’s ratings board (via Nintendo Everything) posted a rating for an upcoming Switch 2 release from Capcom, that being “Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition.” Now, not only is this game not already on Switch 2, but Devil Hunter Edition would be a brand new version of the game. Granted, this could be as simple as a renaming of the existing Special Edition release, but some new content coming to the game – such as the highly requested Lady and Trish DLC – would go down a treat.
The Taiwan ratings board also released a rating for the currently-PC-exclusive horror title UN:Me. Meanwhile, the ESRB – not to be outdone – posted ratings for Switch 2 releases of Blood West, Hell is Us, and Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival. We’ll just have to watch this space to see if they get officially announced.
