I’m likely going to be spending much of this morning preparing conversation topics for the two-year-old’s birthday party I’m going to this afternoon. It’s not the toddlers that are the issue – all the old standards go down a treat with them – “Do you like the taste of boogers?”, “What’s that behind your ear?”, “What’s your position on jelly?” (To which the answer is always “On a plate!”). No, it’s the parents that are the issue.

They get really weird when you as them if they like the taste of boogers.

I’m sure the rest of the team will be doing something equally as all-consuming. Let’s check.

More Nioh 3 awaits me this weekend – hey, didja read my review? Pretty good game! Alas, I have a bajillion more bosses to fill out in our Nioh 3 boss list, so the work continues.

I’m rather sourly starting to feel like I’m fighting Aim Assist conduits rather than other people in Highguard. Then again, it’s getting a new hero and other stuffs in the next patch, so I’ll probably still spend a lot of my weekend there. In my own time, I’ve also started a new game of Oxygen Not Included, for the first time in several years. A lot has changed. I’m currently trying to figure out the best way to de-germify my duplicants’ growing vat of accumulated toilet water.

I fear I’ve missed the boat on writing-writing about it but I am enjoying Deep Rock Galactic’s season 6 update, in which you deploy laser-firing rocket boosters to steal giant chunks of resin and chase fleeing xeno-bugs into hidey holes constructed largely of bones. I was too quick, also, to infer that anyone gets trapped by a lurking Pit Jaw is a big dumb idiot child – those are some stealthy chompers indeed.

    Edwin
This weekend I will be playing a game in which you are chased through forests by squirming suits of human skin. I was supposed to be taking a break from horror game reviews, but who could say no to a squirming skin suit. Also, I may be thinking about BOOKS.

Now all of the episodes of Fallout series two are out of the vault, I might finally get around to binging my way through its New Vegassyness. My verdict on the first series was fairly lukewarm, if appreciative of why others dug it so much, so I’ll be interested to see how the follow-up fares when put before my eyeballs. I’m aware it’s not a game, but if it makes you feel any better I can grip a controller and swear loudly at the screen while Ella Punells and Walton Gogginses.

    Callum
Young Callum provided no information about his weekend. He just stared at us with his seven eyes and purred before coughing up a hairball.

    Julian
When I’m not pretending to small children that I’m Father Christmas on his holidays, I’m going to play some more Menace. I’m only two operations deep into the campaign so far, but I want to know how my characters will develop as they unlock new skills. I’ve also not faced the menacing alien threat of the title yet.

And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?
