The final episode of the final season of The Boys is a wrap. Showrunner Eric Kripke shared the news on his social media, declaring that production of The Boys season 5 is done, and therefore, so is the entire show.
“The last color tweaks on the last VFX shots of the last episode of The Boys,” reads Kripke’s post. “Now 100% done. It never truly hit me that it’s over, cause there was always something to work on. Until today. This was the best professional experience of my life. I hope you like it. April 8.”

“I kept saying to Amazon, ‘This is going to be five’,” Kripke previously stated. “They let me finish season four, and it ends with the world exploding, right? There’s really nowhere else to go except the finale. Some of the senior executives were like, ‘Wait, do you really want to end it with season five?’ I’m like, ‘I wasn’t joking. And respectfully, you have no choice,’ I mean, you cannot go back to the status quo after Homelander takes over the United States. So they’re letting me end it on our terms.”
