The John Wick videogame release date is coming. He, as we should all know by now, is the unstoppable force and the immovable object rolled into one, and most definitely a person you don’t want to get on the wrong side of. As one of the world’s deadliest assassins, Wick can complete any task set by the High Table, coupling extreme resolve with an unparalleled skill set to get the job done. Plus, he has lovely hair.
Recently, a John Wick videogame was announced, putting us in the shoes of Mr. Wick as he tackles many, many henchmen to the ground. Details are sparse, but we were given a peek at what we’ll be up to when the action game is released, which thankfully includes violence, judo, and unwieldy yet effective close-quarters gunplay.

With the John Wick game only having one announcement trailer so far, we would imagine there is still a long way to go in development. If we use other titles from Saber Interactive as an indication, we might be in for a bit of a wait before suiting up as our favorite assassin.
Jurassic Park: Survival, for instance, was announced back in 2023 and still doesn’t have a release date. The popular Space Marine 2 was announced back in 2021, but didn’t see a full release until 2024. We would estimate that the John Wick game won’t hit shelves until 2027 at the earliest.

The announcement trailer opens in what we assume is a branch of the Continental Hotel, and shows us the tailor within, who is fitting John up for one of his now trademark bulletproof black suits. The trailer cuts from this relaxed setting to various fights, where we see the eponymous Wick using his patented mix of judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and hitting people with whatever he can get his hands on.
The fights we see – both in-engine and in cutscenes – share that brutal weight we’ve come to know and love from the movies. Each person has heft, and each strike is felt, with a brawl in a kitchen devolving into cast iron brutality. The third-person combat looks like it will use Wick’s kit and the environment to equal effect.

We don’t know what kind of mission John will be on this time around – it could be a prequel to the movies, for instance. But we can see from the tailor scene, with Mr. Wick checking his watch as he is being sedately measured up, that this is a planned mission, with the pair of firearms presented to the assassin at the end a deadly indication of the violence that will ensue.
