How to complete the Marathon Traxus contract

The Marathon Introducing Traxus contract from ONI is essential for unlocking the faction, but it’s not the easiest for new players. Firstly, it takes place on Dire Marsh, a much larger and more dangerous map compared to Perimeter. It also requires you to fight a powerful UESC commander and you need to find and scan a container against the clock. It’s worth doing this Marathon contract with a crew if possible, and I’ve laid out the steps and some tips for the Introducing Traxus Marathon contract below so you know what to expect before going in.

Marathon Introducing Traxus walkthrough

For the Introducing Traxus liaison contract in Marathon, you need to complete three objectives in a single run on the Dire Marsh map, which you have to be Season Level 3 to play on – of all the Marathon maps, it’s easily the biggest and is quite a bit more dangerous than Perimeter, so expect ruthless enemy players and UESC. Additionally, one of the objectives involves taking down a robust UESC Commander, so make sure you’re well-supplied with ammo and healing before attempting, especially if you’re doing this solo.

Here’s what you’ve got to do to complete this Marathon factions quest and get Traxus’ attention:

1. Load into a Dire Marsh run and head to either Intersection, Complex, or Bio-Research. I would go for whichever is closest from where you spawn but bear in mind that Intersection’s central position means a lot of Runners will pass close by and may be attracted by any noise you make.
2. Look for a dark blue UESC terminal in whichever location you choose to go to and interact with it – use the above map to help you find it. This will summon UESC reinforcements, so be ready for a fight.
   Intersection: Look around the second floor of the main building.
   Complex: Find the exterior catwalk on the southeastern side of the main area.
   Bio-Research: inside the western building on the ground floor.
3. Defeat the UESC Commander that gets dropped off, then collect the Shipping Manifest item they drop. Be aware that picking up this manifest starts a three-minute timer for the next step.
4. Find the nearby stacked shipping container within the time limit. A waypoint should guide you to the correct container, but you’re looking for a large white container stacked on top of another one.
5. Climb up to the top container’s face with the QR-code-like pattern and “CRGO” tag on it, then follow the button prompt to scan it.

That’s the end of the liaison contract for Traxus, and the container will get picked up by a UESC dropship. You can now exfil from your run to hand in the contract to ONI, bagging some Credits, several weapons attachments, and a Bully SMG, which is one of the best Marathon weapons in the game. You’ll then be introduced to Traxus’ enigmatic agent Vulcan and will have access to the Cutthroat Competition priority contract, as well as their upgrades, weapon-focused Armory offerings, and rank-up rewards if you do as they as request.
