The first reactions are in for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy – and they’re very positive. Described as “terrifying”, “squirm-inducing” and “unrelenting”, the new horror movie from the Evil Dead Rise director is winning over early viewers.
The monster movie reimagines the classic horror franchise in a more domestic setting as it follows the young daughter of a journalist who goes missing, only to reappear eight years later. However, the joyful reunion soon turns into a nightmare as their daughter is not as they remember her.

“#LeeCroninsTheMummy is, without question, the most terrifying and disgusting Mummy movie you’ll ever see,” adds Comic Book’s Chris Killian. “Unrelenting in some ways that I can’t go into because spoilers, and it’s definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoyed Evil Dead Rise, chances are you’ll love this.”
