Pokemon evolution is one of the most satisfying and rewarding mechanics of the game series, so of course you want to know if your Pokemon evolve in Pokopia. You’ve built Charmander a nice warm house, you’ve given them a few nice gifts and some tasty food, they’re living in a Pokemon paradise, and yet they’re still Charmander. What gives?
While Pokemon may not technically evolve in Pokopia, you can get evolutions of your favorite monsters, so here’s how it all works.
Do Pokemon evolve in Pokopia?

No, Pokemon don’t evolve in Pokopia, however, you can still get evolved forms to move in nearby.
Since you can only get each Pokemon once in Pokopia, allowing them to evolve would mean you have to choose which form you want, rather than being able to have all Pokemon in an evolutionary line live together. Instead, you have to find each form separately. So, for example, even if you already have Charmander living in Withered Wasteland, you have to discover Charmeleon and Charizard separately, by finding out which habitat they like and building it for them.
It’s worth noting that you should be careful where you build certain habitats if you’re desperate for a full evolutionary line to live together. In Pokopia, Pokemon can’t move between towns, and so, for example, if you want Bulbasaur and Ivysaur to live in the same town and Bulbasaur already lives in Withered Wasteland, be sure not to build a Bench with Greenery in Bleak Beach, even accidentally.
Some evolved forms, like Ivysaur, have the same habitat preferences as their previous evolution, so you can always try them. However, they won’t always, so you may need to wait until you find the right Pokemon traces.
