Beyond Good and Evil 2’s creative director Fawzi Mesmar has confirmed that the game is still in development despite six other Ubisoft games being canceled in the company’s recent “major reset.”
Last week Ubisoft made a statement claiming that “Beyond Good & Evil 2 remains a priority for us in the context of our strategy centered around Open World Adventures.” However, as the company made numerous reassurances that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake was still in development before unceremoniously canceling it alongside five other games, people are understandably skeptical of what company statements have to say.
He goes on to share his condolences to those who are affected by the restructuring. “Needless to say, I am saddened by the cancellations that has affected my colleagues in other parts of Ubisoft and the industry,” Mesmar writes. “I urge everyone – myself included – to offer support whenever and however they can during these times.”
