What are the best Resident Evil Requiem mods? The RE Engine has become synonymous with modern-day Resident Evil, renowned for its photorealistic visuals and butter-smooth performance. It’s also eminently moddable, and PC players have no shortage of ways to enhance their experience. We’ve combed through all the latest offerings to bring you the best mods to install first.

Our shortlist of the best RE9 mods includes all the visual enhancements we identified as missing in our breakdown of the best RE9 settings. We’ve also thrown in a treasure trove of gameplay cheats to relax the survival horror game’s toughest constraints, and topped it off with a few silly mods for flavor. Can anyone else hear Smash Mouth?

The best Resident Evil Requiem mods are:

    • REFramework
    • Adjust FOV
    • No Film Grain
    • Bonus Content Unlocker
    • Auto Item Reveal
    • Infinite Ammo and HP
    • Infinite Hemolytic Injector Uses
    • Better Movement Speed
    • Easy Parry
    • Headshot Lethality
    • Grace Ashcroft Inventory Expansion
    • Max Stack Sizes
    • Collect More Blood
    • Better Crafting
    • Almost Invisible Charms
    • Arachnophobia Mode Filter
    • Shrek Chunk
    • Patty Wagon
    • Bicycle

The RE9 framework mod on the home screen.

    REFramework

Before you install any of the mods on our list, you need a modding tool to run them. The REFramework mod is the Requiem mod community’s sweetheart, and many of the best mods won’t work without it. ReFramework also includes bonus extras like Ultrawide, FreeCam, and FOV options, along with a ReShade crash fix for those who need it.

Pens below a whiteboard in RE9.

    No Film Grain

Like chromatic aberration before it, film grain is one of several post-processing effects that are quickly becoming ubiquitous in our favorite games. Requiem has escaped the former but not the latter. Even worse, there’s no native way to disable it in RE9 settings. The No Film Grain mod solves this problem immediately, letting us see those high-res textures in all their gory, er, glory.

A weapon with infinite ammo in RE9.

    Infinite Ammo and HP

Performance fixes and visual upgrades are all well and good, but half the fun of mods is being able to blatantly cheat your way through the toughest challenges a game can throw at you. The Infinite Ammo and HP mod lets you sail through Insanity mode like you’re Chris Redfield. Just be warned – not even infinite health will save you from the instant KO’s delivered by several bosses.

    Infinite Hemolytic Injector Uses

We’ve all been there. You’re sneaking around the Rhodes Hill clinic as Grace when a zombie crosses your path. It hasn’t seen you yet, but it’s about to turn around and – darn. You accidentally used your last Hemolytic Injector ten minutes ago, and now you’re this guy’s next meal. The Infinite Hemolytic Injector Uses mod ensures that all your sneak attacks make zombies go pop.

A list of special content in RE9.

    Bonus Content Unlocker

You can’t say you’ve completed RE9 until you’ve unlocked all the bonus content, but there’s no doubt that earning all those challenge points can be a bit of a slog. The Bonus Content Unlocker mod lets you skip the grind and get your hands on all those secret weapons, costumes, and items.

Leon holding an axe in RE9.

    Easy Parry

Parrying is an integral move in Leon’s skill set, but that doesn’t mean we have to love it. RE9’s parry can be a little finicky, and the window of success seems to shift constantly – not good when you’re going up against Super Tyrants. The Easy Parry mod puts the parry timings in your hands. Don’t let this mod’s name fool you – it also lets you make parrying more difficult, if you’re a masochist who needs an added challenge.

A script showing headshot lethality changing in Resident Evil Requiem.

    Headshot Lethality

Everyone knows that headshots are the key to slaying zombies, but RE9’s enemies have some of the hardest heads we’ve encountered. If you’re tired of putting a full clip of ammo into a regular zombie’s noggin only for him to keep coming at you, the Headshot Lethality mod can help. It uses a slider rather than a toggle for a more precise damage multiplier, with an additional slider for stagger effects.

    In inventory bag from RE9.

    Grace Ashcroft Inventory Expansion

Who has time to go hunting for Hip Pouches, anyway? The Inventory Expansion mod for Grace lets you unlock the maximum number of item slots outright or incrementally reveal additional item slots when required. You do need to pick up the first hip pouch in the Break Room to unlock the inventory system, but after that, Grace’s inventory can be as expansive as you want it.

The inventory showing 9999 of all bullet types in RE9.

    Max Stack Sizes

RE9 has a ton of constraints that put the ‘survival’ in ‘survival horror,’ but one of the most frustrating might be a full inventory. The Max Stack Sizes mod preserves that challenge somewhat but offers some leeway by ensuring items like herbs, scrap, and ammo only take up a single inventory slot. Full disclosure, this won’t affect the blood collector – you’ll need the below mod for that.

A blood collector from Resident Evil Requiem with 99999 capacity.

    Collect More Blood

The Collect More Blood mod is perfect for crafters, letting you collect up to 9,999 units of blood. With this mod installed, you can hoover up all of the infected blood as you go – you’ll never be short of it for crafting med injectors, molotov cocktails, and bottles of acid.

Grace at the analyzer in RE9.

    Better Crafting

The amount of craftable ammo in RE9 can seem a little stingy, especially if you’re giving up the chance of crafting healing or explosive items for the sake of a handful of bullets. If you still want to preserve the challenge of ammo conservation, the Better Crafting mod is a great alternative to infinite ammo mods. You still need the same ingredients for each recipe, but you get a lot more bang for your buck with this installed.

Leon holding a pistol in RE9.

    Almost Invisible Charms

We love Leon Kennedy rocking a teddy bear charm as much as the next person, but we’ll admit, seeing him tote around Claire Redfield like a Labubu is a bit weird. The Almost Invisible Charms mod technically doesn’t remove them altogether – it just makes them so microscopically small that they’re invisible to the naked eye. At least Claire’s still with us in spirit.

A menu allowing you to adjust the FOV in RE9.

    Adjust FOV

We flagged RE9’s restrictive field of view in our Requiem review, so you can bet it was at the top of our mods wishlist. The Adjust FOV mod comes as a relief for anyone affected by simulation sickness. It comes with FOV sliders for first and third-person perspectives, both as standard and while aiming down sights. Enjoy your new peripheral vision!

A menu for changing movement speed in RE9.

    Better Movement Speed

Sometimes, running from enemies in RE9 feels a little bit like running in slow-motion in a dream, especially when you’re playing as Grace. The Better Movement mod alleviates that sensation, allowing you to adjust the walking and running speed for all playable characters individually (yes, even at the orphanage). You can also adjust the movement speed of enemies, letting you slow down The Girl or speed up the shambling of regular zombies for added challenge.

All of the items on a map revealed in RE9.

    Auto Item Reveal

Why rely on interactive maps online when you can have them in-game instead? The Auto Item Reveal mod is a completionist’s dream, displaying every item’s location on the map before you even begin to explore. Whether you’re searching for ammo, ink ribbons, or key items, this mod leads you right to it. Of course, you’ll still need RE9 safe codes to retrieve what’s inside.

Shrek coming through a door in Resident Evil Requiem.

    Shrek Chunk

Thomas the Tank Engine and Randy Savage might have cornered the market on boss reskins, but Requiem’s mod community has brought a new challenger. The Shrek Chunk mod replaces our oversized pal in Rhodes Hill clinic with a bona fide all-star.

A rat with an arrow to a spider.

    Arachnophobia Mode Filter

One particular RE9 boss is already infamous in arachnophobic gamer circles, and while we won’t spoil it here, you best believe you need this mod installed if spiders give you the heebie-jeebies. The Arachnophobia Mode Filter mod goes a step further than the immersion-breaking amorphous blobs of classic arachnophobia filters, allowing you to transform Requiem’s creepy-crawlies into a variety of alternative models, including birds, rodents, and even Mr. X.

Leon poking his head about a yellow and blue vehicle.

    Patty Wagon

Capcom’s partnership with Porsche is as prominent in RE9 as Leon’s Hamilton watch, but that doesn’t mean we have to endure the unnecessary product placement. Instead, embrace your inner Nickelodeon kid with the Patty Wagon mod. We’re sure Mr. Krabs would appreciate the extra promotion.

Leon on a bicycle in the air in RE9.

    Bicycle

The motorbike showdown between Leon and Victor is Requiem’s stand-out set piece as far as we’re concerned. It’s camp, high-octane, and pretty badass… but it isn’t good for the environment – and let’s be honest, Raccoon City’s been through enough. The Bicycle mod replaces these iron horses with their climate-conscious counterparts, complete with adorable wire baskets.

With the best RE9 mods installed, you’ll have the ideal version of Resident Evil Requiem to tear through Insanity mode or have a chuckle in new game plus. If you’re looking to beat your current time, we’ve got the RE Requiem blood analyzer puzzle solutions – unfortunately, there’s no mod for skipping them just yet.
