A new Terraria State of the Game has just arrived for May 2026, and developer Re-Logic has made “a ton of progress on 1.4.5.7” in the past month, according to the studio’s Head of Business Strategy Ted ‘Loki’ Murphy. He says the next Terraria update “is shaping up nicely, we think, and thank you for giving us the time to try and get it as right as possible on the first go – a big challenge with any balance-based task.” As the latest spoilers reveal, however, the changes on the cards are more significant than simple numbers tweaks. “Sometimes, addressing…
Monster Hunter Stories 3 devs reveal cut content and ponder what ‘Resident Evil Stories’ could be
Capcom director Kenji Oguro and art director Takahiro Kawano have collaborated on video games for more than 25 years. They first met on the development team for 2001’s PS2 title Onimusha Warlords as a planner and character designer, before eventually leading their first project with 2006’s sci-fi shooter, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. The pair have worked together ever since and now steward Capcom‘s Monster Hunter Stories series, right up to its latest instalment, this year’s Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.“We’ve got a good working relationship, as you might expect, and I think we just understand and trust each other completely,” Oguro…
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 supports Switch 2 Joy-Con mouse controls, but I really wouldn't recommend it
Activision officially dropped the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 reveal yesterday, and nestled among the campaign details, multiplayer upgrades, and return of DMZ, Ninty popped its head up. This is the first CoD title to launch on Nintendo hardware since Ghosts, though we’ll have to wait a while for its Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders, and it comes with full Joy-Con mouse control support. As much as I love this nifty feature, I very much recommend that you don’t take them up on that offer. It’s not just that you’re relying on softer trigger buttons for your main clicks, or that…
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is getting a roguelike mode, a Thieves Guild, and a sprawling underworld with unique terrain
Before I tell you about the Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era early access roadmap, I fear I must finally have a tantrum about the terrible word, “roadmap”. Videogame developers, I cannot think of a more flattening, soul-sapping way to describe the process of tinkering with the clockwork of make-believe. In this case, Unfrozen are planning to add a persistent netherworld to their strategy RPG, stretching beneath every mountain and valley. They are also even now convening a Thieves Guild for surveillance purposes, and breeding unspecified monsters as powerful as lich dragons. If I were going to summarise all…
I can’t quite believe I’m writing this, but a new Starcraft 2 update has just fundamentally changed the game at its core. It’s been more than ten years since Legacy of the Void wrapped up the main campaign, and while Blizzard has continued to sporadically support the RTS game with small tweaks to its co-op mode, it hasn’t done anything quite like this in a long, long time. We’re talking ‘relearn your build orders’ massive. It’s not quite the Starcraft 3 I’ll always dream of, but it might end up feeling like it by the time the dust settles. Starcraft…

Stop Killing Games-backed bill that'd bar publishers from switching off game servers without thinking of players passes California State Assembly vote
A Californian bill backed by the Stop Killing Games campaign, which would see publishers shutting down servers for online games forced to provide full refunds or a version of the game players can keep on playing independently of said servers as part of the process, has hopped another hurdle. It’s passed a full vote in California’s State Assembly, paving the way for it to head to the state’s senate as it inches closer to becoming a fully enacted law despite opposition from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
Now that 007 First Light is finally here, developer and publisher IO Interactive is celebrating the long-awaited game’s success – a success that spells over a million copies sold in just two days, that is.If you’ve read our own 007 First Light review, then you know we consider it “Bond’s greatest game to date” – and we’re likely not alone in feeling that way. As per IO Interactive’s latest online post, over 1.5 million copies of the new action game have already sold… and it’s only been a couple of days, seeing as 007 First Light launched on May 27.…
Xbox’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, has claimed that a recent price reduction to some Game Pass tiers has yielded positive results for the platform holder. In a note to staff published by The Verge, Asha Sharma claimed that last month’s price reductions for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass had resulted in net positive signups for the service.“Growth slowed down, and subscriber loss accelerated after the pricing and SKU changes last year,” Sharma wrote. “Since our price reduction, we have seen acquisitions grow, and retention improve, which is a good first step.”However, Sharma went on to claim that there were…
