Refresh 2026-01-09T11:37:37.549Z As for this game, we’re likely to know significantly more by the end of the day, but currently we have a few snippets that we’re sure about when it comes to Divinity. For one thing, Divinity will be a turn-based RPG, probably in the style of the Original Sin games and Baldur’s Gate 3 where real-time exploration focused down into turn-based combat. We also know that Divinity is likely to release into early access, again much like those previous games. Vincke told us Larian wants to do early access, which has been the studio’s “blueprint” for its last three…
UK Green Party MPs would be 'compelled' to support Stop Killing Games, if a proposed policy amendment passes
Following the parliamentary debate of the Stop Killing Games campaign’s petition to the UK government last year, a group of Green Party members have announced plans to propose an amendment to the party’s policy which would “compel” its MPs to support the campaign.
A frosty new PUBG update adds some incredible high-risk, high-reward tension to its most iconic map
I didn’t expect to find myself returning to PUBG: Battlegrounds at the start of 2026, although perhaps it shouldn’t be too surprising given that you’ll still find the battle royale game consistently ahead of even new powerhouse Arc Raiders on the Steam player charts. However, the new Erangel: Subzero variant of its most iconic map was an ironically warm reminder that it still has the chops to stand up to the latest contenders on the block. Now, PUBG update 39.2 makes it an even more compelling option, ramping up the risk/reward balance with a unique special zone. The name is…
Nintendo Switch 2’s latest GameCube release is now live, bringing the total number of games on the service to eight.Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance – originally released for Nintendo GameCube in 2005 – sees two races, the human beorc and the half-human laguz, pitted against each other.“Experience the classic strategy role-playing mechanics Fire Emblem is known for in this beloved installment,” reads Nintendo’s synopsis.“Players can enjoy cutscenes with voice acting and 3D maps alongside the return of the brutal battle system, where your units are gone for good if they fall in a fight.”The addition of Fire Emblem brings the total number…
Tomb Raider star Sophie Turner says she's "playing the games" and "reading the comics" to prepare for the new Lara Croft show, but she's avoiding the movies: "I've gotta create my own thing"
Sophie Turner is doing her research to play Lara Croft in Prime Video’s upcoming Tomb Raider TV show, but she recently revealed she is avoiding watching the previous on-screen versions of the iconic character.”I’m playing the games, I’m reading the comics. I’ve got the Colossal Collections, which are 500 pages. I’m kind of doing all of it, but not really focusing on the previous iterations, because I don’t want to imitate, I’ve gotta create my own thing. So, as much as I love those movies, I can’t watch them right now,” she told SiriusXM.The movies Turner is avoiding (for now)…
Deep Rock Galactic's Season 6 secret release date looks to have been cracked in minutes by astute diggers
Ghost Ship Games could learn a thing or two from Rockstar about hiding secrets in cobwebs. While RDR2’s spider-spun mystery continues to vex seasoned easter egg hunters, the message behind a piece of Deep Rock Galactic promo art – posted on the game’s Discord server earlier today – was seemingly spotted in about twenty minutes. Still, at least it looks to be a handy bit of info: a release date for its big Season 6 update.
The 007 First Light system requirements have arrived, and honestly, I’m slightly shocked. For what looks to be a cinematic experience that could rival the likes of L.A. Noire and Mafia: The Old Country, IO Interactive’s latest won’t take a colossal toll on your rig. Running the game at a setting that meets the minimum requirements isn’t going to look amazing, but it’ll be something the vast majority of gaming PCs can manage, and if your machine can manage the recommended specs, you’ll get to enjoy the snow-covered Slovakian mountains and gilded halls of Kensington at a smooth 60fps, at 1080p. While…
Arc Raiders cheating earns stern response from Embark as players sound the alarm: "We are implementing significant changes to our rulesets and deploying new detection mechanisms"
Arc Raiders cheating and a similar rise in unfair exploits have been addressed by developer Embark Studios, which promises new tools and punishments to help clean up the game.In a post on the game’s official Discord server, Embark community admin Ossen confirms, “We’ve seen the discussion around the topic of cheaters in ARC Raiders. Please know that we are taking this issue very seriously and are listening to, and acting on your feedback.”Your mileage may vary depending on what time, region, or platform you’re playing from, and it’s not as if in every raid you’ll find unkillable people running around…
Parasite Mutant explores the horrors of running circles around not-quite-Xenomorphs, and its demo is out now
I’m jogging around. Has the gauge filled up to one bar yet? No. Well, back to jogging around it is. Time to politely salute the horrific mutant trying to attack me as I double back past it for the third time. Ooh, we have a bar. Right, time to whip out my pistol and – BANG, BANG. Shit, I forgot to wander up to point blank range and so have hit absolutely nothing. Well, back to jogging I go until the gauge fills again.
The FF14 race to world first is over as Dawntrail's final savage raid falls, and despite DDOS drama the winner is clear
The FF14 race to world first has come to its conclusion, and this time there’s nothing close about it, although continued DDOS frustrations certainly managed to put a dampener on the event. Rounding out a trilogy of wins across the entire Dawntrail raid series, Japanese team Lucrezia managed to take home the victory once again, and did so with well over an hour gap ahead of second place, making it tough to argue with the result despite repeated disruptions for several North American teams. The FF14 7.4 savage raids have been a fabulous conclusion to the Arcadion. Its pro-wrestling theme…
