Cry “Rock and Stone” and let slip the dwarves of war – Deep Rock Galactic is ready to reclaim its crown as one of the best co-op games on PC. The past year has been an incredible year for games designed to play with pals, and whether you love or hate the ‘friendslop’ term, your crew probably found a favorite or two among the likes of Peak, Repo, and Schedule 1. As we kick off 2026, however, I’m here to tell you that Deep Rock Galactic Season 6 is the perfect time to rediscover why it’s still a serious contender…

In what seemed to have taken no longer than the flip of a coin, Sebastian Stan has been confirmed to play the new Harvey Dent in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, following a recent leak. Now, The Hollywood Reporter’s newsletter has confirmed that the star better known as Bucky Barnes from the MCU is hopping the fence into another comic book universe that fans have been itching to return to since The Batman in 2022, and The Penguin spin-off series that kept us occupied last year.Stan will take on the ill-fated role of Harvey Dent, the District Attorney of…

I’m a bit tantalised by FPS Quest, but I do worry that it has already defanged its most interesting ideas. Developed by Farlight Games Industry, it’s a dungeon crawler in which your frame-rate “is your health”, with mistakes and damage causing slowness and stuttering. To regain health/frame-rate, you must do what you do when running any game on a potato PC – fiddle with the settings like you’re bargaining with an especially recalcitrant devil. This extends from lowering the quality of wall textures and characters, to plucking out whole pieces of environment. The more you do this,…

What does 2026 hold for The Sims 4 and long-teased spinoff Project Rene? Developer Maxis and publisher EA are seemingly cooking up some big plans for the coming months and years, and there’s probably some good and bad news depending on what brings you to the series. Personally, confirmation that Project Rene has now “evolved” into a social-focused, mobile-first game gets away from what I’m after. But the team says it’s “committed to single-player life simulation experiences,” and that’s where we’ll see the “next evolution” of The Sims. Part of the beauty of The Sims 4 and its predecessors is…

Fallout 3’s at its best during your first trip into the war-torn ruins of downtown DC. Rather than an open and desolate expanse, you’re navigating tight underground passageways by Pip-Boy light, occasionally emerging into the daylight to fight through patches of ruined city often littered with battered landmarks. Bethesda had initially envisioned this urban jungle to be even more of an expansive labyrinth, and a group of modders have now had a crack at resurrecting the cut areas to create their own version of that more expansive DC.

Nvidia has just unveiled its latest G-Sync technology aimed at making gaming monitors as responsive and smooth-feeling as can be. Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar combines the refresh rate/frame rate-syncing tech of G-Sync with a new type of monitor backlight strobing, which works a bit like old CRT screens, to provide ultra-smooth, low-motion-blur gaming. I’ve long been a fan of G-Sync technology, even if few options on our best gaming monitor guide still use an official G-Sync module. Unlike some Nvidia tech, such as DLSS upscaling, frame gen, and RTX, which have not always had the most obvious beneficial impact, G-Sync just…

Necrons don’t care about Christmas, because apparently, we get all our gifts in January. The 500 Worlds campaign book is on the way, kicking off the beginning of the end for 10th edition Warhammer 40K in style — with a big brawl between the Ultramarines and the Necrons. Those big, stupid blueberries got some new toys, including an updated model for Space Marine 2’s Captain Titus, but as a die-hard Necron player, I’m here to talk about the shiny new toys for my shiny old boys. And let me tell you, fellow overlords, the star gods have blessed us.I’m normally a…

I regret to inform you, I am once again in the grips of an idle clicker. Feed The Reactor was only released last night, but I’ve already become one of the 0.1% of players to prestige its tech tree. In my defense, there’s something a lot more active and engaging at the core of this ‘idle’ clicker than I’m used to. Though, it also helps that Feed The Reactor’s theming has me picturing myself as a lab boffin, carefully crafting the mix of fuel and ignition sources that will fire up the heart of a fusion reactor…

A big budget sequel to one of my favorite competitive FPS games ever, Splitgate 2 was set to be a dream shooter for me. In many ways, it really hit the spot, but its huge ambition resulted in a bloated experience, with unnecessary hero shooter elements tarnishing what was otherwise some excellent gameplay. Swiftly pulling the game back into a beta state, 1047 Games has trimmed off some of the extra fat and relaunched it as the more streamlined, true-to-the-original Splitgate Arena Reloaded. While I believe it’s much better for it, its Steam player count hasn’t seen a significant resurgence.…
