STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is getting its first proper expansion this year, titled Cost of Hope, and it looks stuffed to its icky mutant gills with classic STALKER series beats that the base game – while a powerfully engrossing survival FPS – missed out on. Despite earning an estimated $6 billion in revenue in 2025, Epic Games has laid off over 1,000 staff due to Fortnite’s apparent “downturn” in revenue. This news comes as the game industry is in turmoil, with layoffs impacting thousands of developers across numerous studios. Epic’s last round of layoffs cut 830 staff from the company in 2023. David ‘Phreak’ Turley has confirmed that he’s no longer working as a game designer on League of Legends. In his patch 26.07 rundown video, the former LCS caster confirms that he’s stopped working on the MOBA directly and has instead transferred to another team within Riot.
