Disney is reportedly worried about fan reaction to The Mandalorian and Grogu, but thinks Star Wars: Starfighter "is more likely to satisfy"
A new report states that Disney thinks Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter will go over better with audiences than Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu.Per Variety, The Mandalorian and Grogu is “something of a question mark” for The Mouse, and that it “may not seem like a big-screen proposition for any but the most die-hard Baby Yoda lovers.” The report also mentions the largely negative reaction to the film’s first trailer, which was strange in tone, among other things… though the second fared much better.Per the official tagline, the New Republic enlists Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his unbearably cute,…
Amazon have released UK studio Maverick Games from a deal to publish the story-led open-world driving game the latter have been working on for a number of years. The split leaves Maverick, founded in 2022 by ex-Playground Games devs including Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown, looking for a new partner. Though, they say they’re already in “active dialogue” with such folks.
Cute visuals and the sheer panic of death don’t typically go well together – you don’t see Hello Kitty plummeting to her death very often. At least, not in official products. However, Peak’s chaotic co-op gameplay and bubbly visuals made it one of 2025’s biggest hits, with over 12,000 players still attempting to climb mountains as I write this article. If you and your friends are looking for something new to play, Peak is cheaper than a cup of expensive coffee, and it’s at a huge 52% off right now, too. Peak is easily one of the best co-op games…

Xbox has no plans to enforce the use of AI in its games, its new management team says.In an interview with Windows Central, new Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma and chief content officer Matt Booty said there are no demands from management to use AI in game development, but that it will still be used as a productivity tool.Sharma explained that while the company will indeed use AI during development, it’s more important that it’s used properly and not for poor quality output.“I think that with any new technology, it brings possibilities as a tool, but even more important, especially…
Kill Bill star Uma Thurman's new thriller about blood-soaked ballerinas gets a stylishly violent first trailer
Uma Thurman is about to take a villain turn in Prime Video’s Pretty Lethal, about a group of young ballerinas trying to survive the night in the home of Thurman’s retired ballerina as her minions try to take them out. If that sounds absolutely over-the-top, the newly released first trailer will not rid you of that notion.Check it out: Pretty Lethal – Official Trailer | Prime Video – YouTube Watch On There’s something weirdly compelling about the translation of highly skilled ballerinas into hardened killers, which seems to be the goal of Thurman’s Devora Kasimir. And, of course, Thurman herself…
Resident Evil Requiem review: Requiem’s concoction of oppressive first-person horror and gory third-person action makes for a rip-roaring first half, even if its second can’t quite match that energy. Developer: Capcom Publisher: Capcom Release: Feb 27th, 2026 On: Windows From: Steam, Epic Games Price: £60/$70/€80 Reviewed on: Intel Core i5-12600, 32GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, Windows 11 Resident Evil: Requiem is filled with winking reminders of previous games, so I was surprised the touchstone I kept coming back to was the one Capcom surely want me to forget: Resident Evil 6. The latter set out with bold aspirations. It…
Dead by Daylight players aren't too happy that a sequel to its K-pop chapter completely ignores one of its original stars
If the sequel to a chapter about the main, original cast of Dead by Daylight isn’t the time to add new voice lines, when is? That’s the question being asked by many today as All-Kill, the horror game’s K-pop-infused gameplay chapter, gets an encore in the form of All-Kill: Comeback. Behaviour Interactive has been quick to respond to criticism about a lack of new voice lines, but not in the way players have hoped. All the way back in 2021 (yes, that was five years ago now), Dead by Daylight added the Trickster killer and survivor Yun-Jin Lee as the headline…
G’AIM’E Light Gun review: An expensive way to play Time Crisis, but it’s hiding a big secret
The light gun shooter is a bit of an endangered video game genre these days. When arcades were flourishing you couldn’t move for them, and their popularity inevitably led to home equivalents – whether it was Nintendo’s Zapper, Super Scope and Wii Zapper, Sega’s Light Phaser and Menacer, or the offerings from third-party publishers like the Konami Justifier or Namco GunCon, there was a time when pointing a plastic weapon at your telly was a perfectly common sight. These days home light gun shooters are far rarer to see. This is down to a number of factors, but the most obvious one…
Valve sued over loot boxes as state of New York demands "full restitution" for players: "Valve's loot boxes pose the same dangers as casino gambling, especially for children"
The state of New York is suing the Valve Corporation over the appearance of loot boxes in many of its most popular franchises, including Counter-Strike and Dota 2, because the state alleges the mechanic is indistinguishable from illegal gambling. In a publicly available summons filed on February 25, New York Attorney General Letitia James, on behalf of the People of the State of New York, argues that Valve has only ensured its free-to-play franchises remain lucrative “by pioneering an alternative model for monetizing its games: gambling.””The market for virtual items for the Counter-Strike franchise alone has been estimated to be in…
Blood-drunk shooter Ultrakill is back with a whole hellworld full of lies, portals and non-Euclidean spaces
Do you like architecture that plays tricks on you? Secret rooms in DOOM? The Ashtray Maze in Control? Thinking with Portals? The 5 a.m.? That painting of some books outside the lockers in the British Library that bends queasily as you approach, revealing itself to be a horrible wedge of tomeflesh, projecting outward into our realm like some dead author’s imprisoned soul? I guess you’ll be playing the new Ultrakill update then. It introduces the eighth layer of Hell, Fraud, in which nothing you perceive with your eyes can be trusted. A problematic prospect, for a “video” game. Here’s…
