Skyrim and Fallout artist says Todd Howard would tell devs "we can do anything but we can't do everything," and 95% of player-reported issues were flagged internally before launch
These days, the vast majority of games ship with bugs that are later patched out, but Bethesda games in particular have earned themselves a somewhat dubious reputation for the sheer amount of glitches and performance issues they usually have at launch. To this day, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has bugs that have persisted for 15 years, and a former Bethesda artist who worked on the game has shared a design philosophy held by executive producer Todd Howard that may have contributed to that association. In a recently resurfaced clip from a 2025 interview with Kiwi Talkz, former Bethesda senior artist…
Crimson Desert's "enemy density issue is very real in the late game," says Palworld publishing chief, so head to this spot for challenges
Palworld publishing lead John “Bucky” Buckley has been one of Crimson Desert’s most vocal champions in the field of high-profile industry voices, but even he admits the endgame is a little too peaceful. This week, we reported on what appears to be a growing sentiment that, once you reach a certain point in Crimson Desert’s late game, you start to run out of enemies to fight and thus ways to check off all of the game’s challenges. Some would say you’ve beaten the game and done all the side quests, story over, but for people gunning for that 100%, it can…
"Oh, we're going there" – Baldur's Gate 3 Halsin actor "burst out laughing" when he got the script for the RPG's most infamous scene
It’s been almost three years and people are still talking about the infamous bear sex scene in Baldur’s Gate 3, a landmark moment in RPGs that inspired a recent Q&A with disturbing implications about lizards in the upcoming Divinity reboot. That said, I’ve always wondered what it was like for Dave Jones, who plays Halsin, the druid who transforms into a bear form for the player to then have sex with, to act in that scene. I’d pay good money to be a fly on the wall for that, but I was also fascinated to hear Jones explain his reaction…
Like you, we’re brainrot connoisseurs at this point, but that doesn’t mean we don’t still need some Open Sea For Brainrots codes to help us get ahead. The gimmick in this game is a particular favorite of ours, and we’re sure you also love parting the sea, feeling like a god, as you sprint through the gap in search of those pesky brainrots. The number of brainrots in this game is pretty expansive, too, as with similar titles like Steal a Brainrot. It gives the collector in us a lot to do, allowing us to sink hours into the game…
Alien: Earth season 2 is shaping up as Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has joined the cast in an unnamed mystery role. The series was renewed for a second season back in November following critical acclaim for the first season.Dinklage’s casting (via THR) brings him back to prestige TV after eight seasons as the cunning Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Though Game of Thrones waxed and waned throughout its long run, Dinklage’s performance as Tyrion was consistently praised as one of the best in the series, turning him into a beloved actor. The first season of Alien: Earth…
New Arc Raiders patch takes another swing at Stella floor exploits, and stops you from spontaneously combusting
Unless it’s the end of the month, Arc Raiders patches are usually fairly slim affairs; a handful of bug fixes at best, keeping things ticking over until something bigger comes along. Today’s patch does contain bug fixes, but they have me breathing a sigh of relief – and wondering just what the hell was happening by that Medical Research room in Stella. The Arc Raiders 1.23.0 patch locks down a lot of funny business – some of which I didn’t even know was possible. There was an issue where, when detonated together, two Trigger Nades could cause three times the…
PlayStation legend Mark Cerny tried to kick off the Spyro the Dragon speedrunning scene back in 1998, and he held the world record for 12 years
Mark Cerny is best known as the soft-spoken engineer who serves as PlayStation’s lead console architect, having designed the PS4, PS5, and yes, even the Vita. But his history with PlayStation goes back much further to his time as president of Universal Interactive Studios, where he helped produce Spyro the Dragon. Despite the executive title, Cerny was very serious about the game, to the point where he was single-handedly trying to kick off its speedrunning scene back in 1998.In the December 1998 issue of Next Generation magazine, Cerny was asked if he was the best at Spyro, which had just…
You can’t really go wrong with creature collecting. Give me a colorful world with cute critters to capture and pit against one another and my wallet is yours. It’s what being raised on a diet of Pokémon and Digimon will do to a person; not that I’m complaining. No Man’s Sky already sports some incredible views from the space game’s generated planets, and you’ve been able to tame many of its Xenos for several years. The only thing that’s been missing is some good ol’ fashioned brawling, but its freshly-launched Xeno Arena update changes that. No Man’s Sky Xeno Arena…
Despite good reviews, The First Berserker Khazan development team reportedly dissolved over disappointing sales just days after Nexon CEO praised the game
The Neople development staff behind action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan have reportedly been reassigned under parent company Nexon following disappointing sales for the game, effectively splitting up the team.An April 8 report from Korean outlet Yonhap News, citing a statement from a Nexon official, says personnel have been moved to other projects that will benefit from their experience. Neople apparently claimed this doesn’t represent the dissolution of the Khazan team, but the future of the game – which was updated as recently as March 31 – is murky.I’ve reached out to Nexon for clarification.Article continues below You may like…
The highly competitive nature of Marathon means fair play is at the top of Bungie’s priority list. In the wake of fresh public outcry around cheating and toxicity, the developer has responded with the promise of continued investment in its cheat detection methods, reporting tools, and more long-term features to deal with both cheaters and negative behavior in the sci-fi extraction shooter. It’s also just deployed a new Marathon update targeting the potency of its Bubble Shield, and reducing the effectiveness of knife combat. “We’ve seen the conversation about cheaters, toxicity, and competitive integrity in Marathon,” Bungie writes. Having recently…
