STALKER 2’s latest update adds an easily missed new questline, while dispersing accidental mutant crowds
Get in here, stalker. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl just got its meatiest patch in months, the Sealed Truth update, which has added a spooky, story-based new questline along with various bug fixes. The new quests, which take you deep into the monster-infested bowels of the X-18 laboratory (previously visited in STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl), seemingly play up HoC’s horror side, and word is it’ll loosely tie into the plot of the incoming Cost of Hope expansion. Which sounds good, although you might need to fire up an older save to kick it off, as it’s seemingly only available for…
Take-Two stock jumps $1 billion after GTA leak as investors learn Rockstar really is making that much money off GTA Online
After asking Rockstar to cough up $200,000, a hacker group has made good on its threats to release what it had dug up of the company’s internal data. But the release of that information seems like it might actually have been a good thing for the Grand Theft Auto studio, as its parent company, Take-Two, just saw a massive boost to its stock price alongside the news.Take-Two shares closed on April 13 at $201.36, representing a total market value of $37.28 billion. But that was before the leak had started to disseminate. Among other things, it revealed financial data suggesting…
Marathon's next experimental mode goes all in on sponsored kits, which sounds great for scaredy-cats like me
There’s another experiment on the way to Marathon. Last month, Bungie started testing a duos mode in the extraction shooter. According to an update from Joe Ziegler, that mode will be making its way into the game as a full feature in season two, with Bungie “diligently working on delivering that to all of you who are eagerly awaiting its return.” But with this update comes the next test: a new mode that forces you into using sponsored kits. Starting from tomorrow, April 15th at 6pm BST/1pm ET/ 10am PT, and ending on April 29th at the same…
Open-world pirate survival game Windrose launches to 69,000 Steam players and 88% positive reviews: "Scratches that Black Flag itch in the best way"
When I first learned about Windrose on that fateful day during Steam Next Fest in February, I was a little salty about the fact that progress in the demo doesn’t carry over to the full game. However, after playing the opening parts of the game and raving about it to anyone who’ll listen, I’m not mad at all. Windrose launched into Steam Early Access today to immediately glowing reviews and incredible peak player counts, and I can’t wait to start all over again.I’m reacting to the news of Windrose’s early wins with a sense of delight, but not surprise. The…
Labyrinth.os is the kind of game where I’m not entirely sure I can tell you what it is exactly. It is, as the game’s itch.io page says, a “new 3D Dungeon Crawling Dream for Windows Machines.” A brief, seemingly in-world description explains the setup for the game too: “Before dying out, the smartest of the world from before left a machine, A machine with the power to restart the world, The Thirteen Architects who were built to maintain this machine dubbed it: The World Egg.” But beyond that, it stays shrouded in mystery up to the point of playing…
A few weeks ago, a relatively large Arc Raiders update added a new Arc enemy, new inventory management tools, and a new map modifier to the game to tide players over until the next map arrives. However, the patch has caused the game to crash regularly for a lot of players, sometimes in the middle of a raid. While it’s usually easy enough to jump back into an active round, crashing is still pretty annoying. Arc Raiders patch 1.24.0 is available for download on all platforms now. Alongside a bunch of bug fixes, the Nascosto Set and the Scrappy Speckled Set…
Hideo Kojima would "rather have the player walk away impacted than entertained," says Death Stranding 2 Higgs actor Troy Baker: "The only way he knows how to swing is big"
In an interview with GamesRadar+ ahead of the 2026 BAFTA Game Awards, actor Troy Baker describes Metal Gear and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima as a developer who puts “big swings” and creative risks above some need to entertain.Baker, who played Higgs in Death Stranding 2 and has acted in dozens of high-profile games, says working with Kojima was a process of trust. “It was him trusting me with that role,” he says. “It was me trusting him to go, ‘You know where this story is going. I’m going to do my part and I’m going to hand it over…
"You cannot create art like this": The Blood of Dawnwalker director on making AAA games that aren't just interested in money
If the *waves hands frantically* general state of the games industry hasn’t made it clear already, it cannot be understated how much of a priority making money is for the suits that own all these game studios. Who cares if the thing is good! Will it make lots of money? And judging by a recent interview, The Witcher 3 director and director of the upcoming The Blood of Dawnwalker Konrad Tomaszkiewicz takes issue with this frustrating fact. Speaking to The Game Business, Tomaszkiewicz explained that he felt the “problem in this industry sometimes is that people opening companies…
Wondering how to increase stamina in Windrose? Surviving isn’t just about fighting off Blackbeard’s army, keeping fed and watered, or just generally staying alive. It’s also about blocking, parrying, running around… basically anything that you can do in Windrose requires you to spend some stamina. When you start out in this survival game, you don’t have much stamina, which can make getting around or surviving combat tricky. While you can always build fast travel points to save time, if you’re struggling in fights or you’d rather explore on foot or by getting a ship, here’s how to increase stamina in…
Overwatch Season 2 adds post-match voice chat, which is such a bad idea that Blizzard is already warning players: "Banter is encouraged, abusive communication is not"
Overwatch Season 2 patch notes arrived today, and beneath a breakdown of the new Operation: Grand Mesa event and other limited-time modes, you’ll find perhaps the funniest warning that Blizzard has ever issued: we’re adding voice chat to post-game, but don’t you dare act up.”For the first time in Unranked and Competitive Play, players will be able to access Match Voice Chat as Post-Match Accolades begin,” Blizzard says, quietly removing the pin from a grenade. “Players can join just before the stage appears but always need to manually opt-in by pressing a button,” it adds, tossing the grenade into the…
