Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes is a gift for fans of the show and roguelike lovers alike
It’s always the way, isn’t it? You wait years for a bus, then two great big spaceships come along at once. I love Star Trek, I also love Battlestar Galactica – for slightly different reasons, mind you – but they still fill the same corner of my mind: space travel, occasional robots, a surprising amount of talking. Not only was I treated to a flawed but oddly enjoyable Star Trek game recently, but I also got to dig into the new Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes demo. I’m in charge of a Gunstar (which is a smaller version of a Battlestar…
It's not just God of War: Bluepoint reportedly pitched a Ghost of Tsushima spinoff and more Shadow of the Colossus before Sony decided there was nothing for it to do and shut the studio down
Sony’s abrupt closure of Bluepoint Games, the studio behind a slew of great PlayStation remasters and remakes, is even worse than you thought. The studio had reportedly pitched Sony a number of projects, including a full-on Bloodborne remake as we’re learning, in an effort to avoid layoffs, but none of them worked out.Bloomberg reports that Sony liked the idea of a Bloodborne remake from Bluepoint but FromSoftware stopped it from happening for reasons undisclosed. We’re also learning that Bluepoint was keen to develop its first original game since 2006 and pitched a Ghost of Tsushima spinoff as well as an…

The folks behind the Stop Killing Games campaign aiming to push lawmakers into taking action to stop publishers shutting down the servers of online games in a fashion that leaves them unplayable have hosted a livestream from the EU Parliament building itself following their latest meeting with the European Commission. The group say that meeting went “fine”, and used the stream to emphasise the bipartisan support their cause has amassed among MEPs so far.
The latest Nvidia driver has "a bug" bad enough that it's been pulled, but there is an easy fix
Nvidia has just pulled its latest driver release, citing “a bug” that, according to the company, is causing issues with fan control, but some users report is also resulting in instability. The Nvidia driver issue affects the very latest official release, numbered 595.59, and Nvidia is advising users to uninstall this version and perform a clean installation of version 591.86 instead. With Nvidia dominating the graphics card market at the moment, the potential number of users affected by this issue is vast. However, indications are that the driver release is still stable enough that you should be able to boot…

Dev making "Planescape Torment + Disco Elysium" says spending 8 years struggling to pay rent and writing over 1 million words for his D&D-inspired RPG was "a ridiculously stupid path"
About eight years ago, indie developer Christoffer Bodegård began roughing out what would eventually become Esoteric Ebb, an ambitious single-player CRPG inspired by the likes of D&D, Disco Elysium, and Planescape: Torment. The project, Bodegård writes in a “pre-mortem” post ahead of the game’s launch on March 3, nearly drove him to bankruptcy before he was saved by its now-publisher, Raw Fury. And boy, does this RPG sound good.Esoteric Ebb, which has a Steam demo you can try for yourself, is an “isometric, Disco-like, TTRPG-turned-CRPG set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy setting” and stars perhaps the worst cleric known to…
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach now has a big table detailing its System Requirements: On The PC. The good news is that, aside perhaps from needing a fairly beefy amount of storage space, Kojima and co’s game about babies/Norman Reedus/walking shouldn’t require you to invest in a space age rig ahead of its arrival on March 19th.
What are the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 console commands and cheats? Life in Bohemia is tough; in the beginning, you have to fight for every meal, you’re forced to use sub-par gear, and your skills are so low that you won’t be able to hit a barn door with an arrow at ten paces. Console commands and cheats can change that, though, if you’re so inclined. Even with the best KCD2 swords and KCD2 armor, you can struggle on occasion in the sprawling open-world RPG that is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Your enemies are numerous, and it can sometimes feel…
