The next big Arc Raiders update isn't until October, but some serious stash relief lands next week
Arc Raiders developer Embark Studios is changing pace, shifting from its monthly update cycle in dramatic fashion. From now on, you can expect major Arc Raiders updates just twice a year, albeit in a bigger, more impactful fashion. It explains that the shift, which will continue to be interspersed with regular live updates, balance fixes, and events as normal, allows the team to “invest more deeply in the health of Arc Raiders.” It will also enable the creation of “more transformative updates” without sacrificing the health of the team. Before that, however, there’s some very good news for your inventory…

BenQ's 27-inch monitor is a solid QD-OLED contender, but I wouldn't spend $100 more for 4K over 500Hz
Our BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ review is now live, and while it’s a little tame on features, the gaming monitor’s QD-OLED efforts are impressive. You’re practically getting the vibrancy that can trade blows with seasoned wielders of the panel, paired with the quality you’d expect from the longstanding display maker, but there’s actually a 1440p 500Hz version of its 27-inch screen that feels like a better choice for $100 less.Over at Amazon, the 1440p 500Hz BenQ Mobiuz EX271QZ and its aforementioned 4K sibling sit side by side. For whatever reason, the QHD version is available for $849.99, while the UHD model…
Arc Raiders will get major updates every six months going forwards, with the next one set to roll out the shooter's largest map yet
Arc Raiders is switching up its update cadence, with developers Embark having decided that dropping a major set of additions every six months is better for the shooter’s long-term health than sticking to a monthly update grind. The first update set to be released under this new modus operandi’s also been revealed: it’s called Frozen Trail and will include the game’s biggest map to date.

I’m always on the hunt for the best RPGs on the Switch and Switch 2. After all, I was raised as a handheld console gamer and it’s still my preferred mode of playing anything, especially when it comes to my favorite genre of all time: roleplaying games. Steam Machine and Switch 2 aren't "massive technological upgrades," says BioShock creator – but they prove we've hit "diminishing returns" with cutting-edge graphics tech
Ken Levine, BioShock creator and the creative director behind upcoming first-person shooter Judas, doesn’t think prioritizing the most up-to-date technology in game development is all that important – in fact, he finds realism doesn’t “age well” at all.The BioShock mastermind – who isn’t working on BioShock 4 but rather new title Judas – reveals as much during an interview with IGN. “I don’t think we’ve ever been a company that was like, ‘Oh my god, we need the latest and greatest technology,'” he begins, referencing what was previously Irrational Games (now Ghost Story Games). “In the rendering space, we’ve never…
