Crimson Desert is now a survival game, thanks to this mod based on an alleged secret "food consequences" system
Are you having fun being Kliff MacDuff? How would you like to be Kliff MacDuff with an acute case of gastritis? It appears that open world RPG Crimson Desert has a secret “food consequence” system, cut during development. It offers 50 different “food skills” split across 15 categories, on top of the existing Crimson Desert cooking recipes. Stir it all together and you have something like a survival sim, as if this game wasn’t enough genres already. I know this because those wily modders have been up to their usual tricks, digging into the game files in search of abandoned…
This week's Epic Games freebie is 96%-rated on Steam, and lets you hack up robots while riding dinosaurs
Imagine you’re Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau. You’re marauding across the planet atop your trusty dino-adjacent pal, Boga, while cleaving through battledroids with your lightsaber. It’s a fabulous time for all organic lifeforms involved. This week’s Epic Games freebie, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, has a similar vibe going for it, though in Doborog Games’ voxel-based arena slice-em-up, you’re more General Grievous than Kenobi. In Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, hereafter referred to as ‘Clone Drone’ purely because the action game’s full title is a bit much, your mind has been transferred into the customizable body of a robot…
The PC ports of the first three Resident Evil games are now available on Steam, around two years after they were re-released on GOG.Although they had been ported to PC in the late 90s, the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 had not been not widely available for purchase on modern PC storefronts. This changed in June 2024, when GOG re-released the original 1997 PC port of Resident Evil – as opposed to the remake, which started life on GameCube before getting modern ports. This was then followed by GOG releases of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil…
Arc Raiders Flashpoint's new map condition is "hell on Earth" and it's giving players "flashbacks" of Helldivers 2's Malevelon Creek: "Nothing but pure chaos everywhere"
Embark Studios is keeping Arc Raiders players on their toes with the new map condition. Close Scrutiny is taking a toll on the community, as people try to make headway against what’s proving to be the toughest set of obstacles in the extraction shooter yet.Part of the Flashpoint update, Close Scrutiny offers great reward, but with high risk. Arc Assessors drop around the map, providing massive loot, but to get to them, you’ve to navigate all the Vaporizers and Surveyors knocking about. Much easier said than done. This can happen on any map with substantial outdoors areas, and thus far, raiders…

Maul – Shadow Lord's Twi'lek apprentice is in a "tug of war" between Maul and her Jedi Master, and the Star Wars shows' creatives are "fascinated" by the fan theories
While Maul – Shadow Lord is set to explore the titular former Sith Lord’s attempts to claw back his criminal empire, it also involves an intriguing dynamic between Maul and a Twi’lek Jedi Padawan named Devon Izara.Devon survived Order 66 along with her Master, Eeko-Dio Daki. Maul is out to recruit Devon as his apprentice, and, though we’ve seen Maul allied with his brother Savage Oppress in The Clone Wars, and attempting to corrupt Ezra Bridger in Star Wars Rebels (which is set after Shadow Lord on the Star Wars timeline), his dynamic with Devon feels like something all new.”We…
