Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: The Big Preview – New developer access and hands-on with the iconic pirate revival is pulling into harbor

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced already feels historic, and we’re not just talking about it being set in the Age of Piracy. Originally the fourth numbered entry in the series, Black Flag quickly became a firm fan-favorite thanks to its swashbuckling action and sunny (though sometimes viciously stormy) Caribbean-set open world. After the divisive Assassin’s Creed 3, it felt like a real return to form.

Now, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is on the way July 9, and it’s the first proper remake Ubisoft has done for the series (though there have been several remasters). What does it mean to be ‘Resynced’? We’ll soon be able to roll up our silk sleeves to dig into just that, as we’ve gotten new developer access with the team at Ubisoft getting the new game shipshape, and gone hands-on with it for the first time.
