The Belkin Charging Case remained at the top spot of our best Switch 2 cases guide for months as it helped fight back against my biggest issue with the handheld – its awful battery life. The interior of the case is hollowed out to fit an integrated 10,000mAh powerbank, which lets you charge up your Switch 2 between gaming sessions, and I was obsessed until the new “Pro” model came around.
This new version transforms the powerbank into a charging display stand, but that design change comes at a $99.99 MSRP. That’s why I was happy to see the older Belkin Charging Case down to $59.49 at Amazon today. The Spring Sale has knocked $10 of, making its price even more appetizing when compared to the almost $100 you have to fork out for its new model. In the end, you will miss out on the powerbank and display stand combo, but this case is still equipped to charge your Switch 2 while you’re on the go.

The Belkin Charging Case might not be quite as fancy as the Belkin Charging Case Pro, but the differences aren’t that major. The older case still includes that 10,000mAh powerbank, and the bottom of the case is moulded so that it can store it, and safely place your handheld on top without issue. When I originally reviewed the case last year, I was a bit worried that this would cause any overheating issues, but my Switch 2 remained entirely fine for the many, many months I used this case.
Belkin even cleverly made room for the small USB-C charging cable to hook up to the bottom charging port of the handheld, so you can fully zip up this case and still have it charging. It might not sound like a big deal, but in practice, this was a lifesaver. Before this case, I could maybe get 3-4 hours of games like Donkey Kong Bananza or Mario Kart World, but being able to ensure it’s charging the moment I take a break has almost doubled my playtime.

Outside of its charging powers, this clamshell design is packed with ample amounts of storage too. There’s a flap in the center which protects your shiny 7.9-inch LCD display from damage and features pockets to store up to 12 physical games. There’s also an accessories pocket, and inside you can find a small hidden pocket designed to store an Apple AirTag so you can keep track of your pricey tech.
I’m not an Apple tech kinda girl, so I haven’t taken advantage of this feature quite yet. But I take my Switch 2 pretty much everywhere, so it’s more than convinced me to grab one the next time I plan to get on a plane.
All these features come at a cost, and that’s its size. This is a bulky case, and not very travel-friendly – especially if you’re a fan of those mini-backpacks. I need a separate tote or messenger bag to bring this along, but I put up with it as it means I can get that extra battery power.
This is the same situation for the Belkin Charging Case Pro. The $99.99 (Amazon) case is just a lot easier to use as the powerbank is built into the bottom of the case, and can be taken out and used as a display stand. However, it’s almost $100, and the Belkin Charging Case is down to $59.49 during the Spring Sale, which your savings will appreciate far more.
