Fallout season 3 is on the way, with co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet teasing the introduction of new elements from the games that were excluded from previous seasons. “We know The Ghoul is heading to Colorado, ideally, but in the Wasteland, thou shalt be sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time,” she joked during an exclusive interview with SFX magazine.
“He still needs to figure out exactly where he’s going,” Robertson-Dworet continued. “Of course, Lucy and Max and many of our other characters are not necessarily heading to Colorado, so we’re very excited to unveil new locations next season. In Fallout, you’re always journeying and exploring and building your map out bigger, so that’s what we want to be mimetic of.”
As the world of Fallout grows, so does the connection to the games. “That’s such a core component of Fallout, so the show is always going to get bigger and bigger – and explore new regions. There are definitely a few things from the game that we’ve wanted to do since season one. Now, it’s narratively the right time to get to them – but I don’t want to say more than that and spoil it,” the co-showrunner teased.
When asked about the future of the story, Max actor Aaron Moten told SFX, “I’m sure there will be more chaos. Much more chaos. I’m excited to get to be back at work with my good friend Ella. It will be really fun – and we’re both really excited to hit the ground running again.”
