How long does Reanimal take to beat? The latest horror platformer from Tarsier, the developers behind Little Nightmares 1 and 2, is finally here, and as we work our way through the terrifying island we’ve washed up on, just how long can we expect Renimal to take?
Similar to the Little Nightmares games, Reanimal has chapters exploring different areas of the island, usually with a big boss lurking in the background, culminating in a showdown before you progress to the next area. These are typically shorter games, though it looks like Reanimal is slightly longer than its predecessors. Here’s what we know…
How long is Reanimal?
Reanimal takes around six to eight hours to beat. That clocks in a bit longer than either Little Nightmares 1 or 2. The first game in the Little Nightmares series only took around four hours to beat, whereas Little Nightmares 2 took around six hours.
It makes sense that Reanimal is longer, as it’s also a co-op game, so you can expect plenty of puzzles with both of you needing to make it out alive, meaning there’s a lot more room for error. Unless you’re playing with the AI companion, Reanimal encourages conversation and interactions with your fellow player as you explore and escape the world together as a brother and sister duo.
Reanimal isn’t necessarily harder than the Little Nightmares games, but it does require more coordination, and there are the optional mysteries and secrets to discover as well. In Little Nightmares 2, the shadow secrets you could interact with optionally throughout the world tied into the character’s story, with an extra secret cut-scene at the end if you managed to find and collect them all. Though we’re not currently sure if that’ll be the case with Reanimal, from the demo and trophy list, we do know secrets are a part of the game, including masks and hidden statues.
