Sniper Dan is a delightful-looking, "family-friendly" blend of Sniper Elite and Where's Wally?

I’ve never gelled well with the Sniper Elite series, as much as I do love a bit of goresploitation in my horror, it just has that kind of Mortal Kombat, slightly too realistic violence vibe about it that pushes it out of my comfort zone. But, I would still like to snipe! Sniping is always satisfying, that strange disconnect between your action and the reaction from a great distance away. So, Sniper Dan, a “family-friendly” hidden object game where you use a sniper to solve the problems of various townspeople, sounds like just what I’m after.

In Sniper Dan, you are Dan, a man who has a sniper rifle. Dan’s job is to fix things, specifically with his sniper rifle, as opposed to literally anything else that might be better suited. In each level, you’ll be given various hints as to how you might go about solving a given task. Like, say, there’s a handy man who’s struggling to loosen a pipe. Shoot it, problem solved! Maybe there’s someone trying to steal some honey from a beehive. Shoot the beehive, and the hive gets stuck on the thief’s head! Or maybe there’s a seagull that’s stolen a sausage. Bang! Job done.

It is certainly incredibly silly, that much can’t be denied, but is a genuinely fun seeming twist on both the hidden object genre and sniping in literally any game. You even have a little hub area in the form of an office that you can decorate with motivational cat posters, or a snazzier logo that you actually paid someone for rather than just lazily AI generated. I like it!
