Xbox Games Showcase 2026 opened with a celebration of Xbox’s 25-year anniversary, followed by a message reading “here’s to the next 25.” That’s a bold statement, given the publisher has been shaken by delays and had mixed results with its Game Pass pivot in recent years, but tonight’s showcase certainly brought the goods.
We saw more of upcoming RPGs Fable and Clockwork Revolution, a Persona 6 announcement, and the return of Spyro – and those are just some of the showcase’s biggest reveals. While you can check out everything announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 for a more blow-by-blow account of the stream, below I’ve picked my five personal favorite reveals.

5. Gears of War E-Day
I knew Gears of War: E-Day would feature prominently, but was still blown away by what I saw in its lengthy gameplay footage. The prequel looks to be making excellent use of its E-day setting – it’s my first time seeing destruction tech demonstrated with a shootout in a supermarket frozen foods section – and I can’t wait to see the world transform into the apocalyptic setting that we know lies in store for it.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 reignited my love for maximalist co-op campaigns, and I can’t wait to go back to basics with a fresh Gears game. If you missed it, I’d recommend catching up on the E-day’s post-showcase Direct – developer The Coalition lays out a very convincing vision for its direction.
4. Fable
Fable’s trailer was lighter on game footage than I would have liked, but confirmation of its February 23, 2027 release date is welcome. That said, the glimpses of gameplay we saw looked promising. There’s real heft to its melee combat, and I’m drawn to how lush Albion looks – no surprise there, given developer Playground Games’ beautiful Forza Horizon series.
The trailer further plays on the themes of morality we’ve seen in past trailers. Mockumentary-style footage depicts Albion’s heroes in a less-than-glamorous light, which leads me to believe that Playground Games is setting us up to muddle through the best we can. I’d love to see Fable aim for the same scope of impact as Fable 3, albeit with more of the day-to-day consequences of past games – and from what the developer tells GamesRadar+ of Fable’s NPCs, the more I’m coming to expect from its RPG.
3. Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6
I’m bundling Persona 4 Revival’s release date trailer and Persona 6’s reveal together because, frankly, we saw very little of the latter. Instead, developer Atlus unveiled the Persona 6 logo with a montage of flickering shots in a graveyard – seemingly establishing a darker tone more in-line with the series’ earlier games than Persona 5 Royal. I’m intrigued by its spookiness so far, but hope we don’t have too long to wait to see something more substantial.
As for Persona 4 Revival, we now know the remake is set to launch February 18, 2027. The trailer suggests it will take a bolder run at the original than 2024’s Persona 3 Reload, with content from its Golden version spotted in the footage. If anything, I hope to see Persona 4 Revival clean up the original’s dated dungeons – but given it’s my all-time favorite among the best persona games, I’ll take this as an excuse to revisit Inaba all the same.
2. Crazy Taxi: World Tour
I’ve never played Crazy Taxi, so much of the hype behind its revival was lost on me. But having now seen Crazy Taxi: World Tour in action, I get it. Set to launch next year, I’m already digging its loudness – from a color palette brighter than the sun to its delightfully slippery physics (and The Offspring, of course), and at risk of getting ahead of myself, would love to be able to play this on Steam Deck.
As for what else we know, Crazy Taxi: World Tour’s trailer description details a “high-octane adventure” following returning driver Axel “as he chases down the mysterious villains who stole his beloved taxi.” As the name suggests, the reboot will take us across the globe – and I’m desperate to see how much fun Sega can have with the broader remit.
1. Spyro: A Realm Beyond
Despite Xbox and PlayStation going tit-for-tat with exclusivity deals, Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be available on all major platforms. That will be welcome news for many – as Spyro’s first new game in 18 years, a lot of fans have been waiting a long time for the childhood hero’s return. While there’s no release date locked in yet, the trailer confirmed we’ll be playing this around spring 2027.
As for the game itself, we were limited to roughly ten seconds of game footage. While that’s not much to go on, it did look promising. With an emphasis on flight and aerial acrobatics, the original game’s ‘little dragon in a big world’-style worlds seem alive and well. Given its release window, I’d expect to hear more on Spyro: A Realm Beyond later in the year.
