Arc Turbines are particularly formidable foes, especially when they’re unleashing powerful lightning attacks and spreading mines across the battlefield. You’ll need to learn how to kill them if you want to loot Turbine Compressors and craft a powerful traversal item, though it’s easy enough if you know where the weak spot is. Here’s where to find Arc Turbines, what their main weaknesses are, and some tips on what gear to bring to the fight.
Where to find Arc Turbines in Arc Raiders
To find Arc Turbines, your best bet is to load into Riven Tides, as they’ll spawn on regular raids, as well as night raids. The annoying part is that they don’t actually show up in every match. After around eight matches in Riven Tides, I saw Arc Turbines spawn in only three of them. Even more frustrating is that they never spawn at the beginning of a raid, and instead show up after anywhere between 13 and 20 minutes have passed.
As such, I recommend starting a raid in Riven Tides, waiting until there’s ten minutes left, and then extracting if you don’t see them spawn in. You can’t really miss them, as they’ll suddenly cascade down into the atmosphere and start to fly around the map. I’ve even seen two spawn in at once.

Arc Turbine weaknesses and strategies
Once you’ve finally managed to get into a raid where Arc Turbines have spawned in, you’ll see them flying around the map. The key is to wait until they land, because they’ll open their side paneling, exposing yellow-tipped barrels. This is the weak spot. Given how much health Arc Turbines have, you’ll need multiple players attacking the enemy at the same time, so bring some squadmates if you can.
Arc Turbines attack in a consistent pattern that’s easy to learn once you know what you’re looking for. First, they deploy mines to the ground, then they land, which is your opportunity to attack. They’ll then periodically release waves of lighting projectiles that hit extremely hard. Get 3 or 4 hullcracker shots in, then duck behind cover until the lightning attacks stop. Repeat this until the enemy starts flying again.
Once an Arc Turbine is back in the air, do not fire at it, as this will prevent it from landing again. Just wait for it to come back down, co-ordinate with your team, line up your shots, and pummel the core. The key to this fight is patience. Hit your shots, duck away to good cover, and never attack it while it’s in the air, or you’ll massively prolong the fight, and trigger even more lightning rockets.
In terms of what to bring, the Hullcracker is your best bet. You will need a couple of stacks of launcher ammo, but eventually, the Arc Turbine will go down. The hardest part about this fight is that generally, you only have anywhere between 10 and 17 minutes left on the clock when the enemy spawns in. This is why co-ordinating with a squad is your best bet. I’ve found that randoms tend to just take shots at the fully armoured flying phase, which prevents it from landing and exposing the weak spot.
Once you’ve killed an Arc Turbine, loot its remains for Turbine Compressors, which are required to craft the Arc Raiders Powered Descender.
