Final Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida has pledged to poke developers of the MMO about one highly-requested option: butt sliders.
Butt sliders have been one of the Final Fantasy 14 community’s most-requested features when it comes to character customization, so much so that the question bounced right back up again at a panel during Fan Fest 2026 in Anaheim, California.
“We really tried to consider this,” Yoshi-P says via a translator to a crowd that was on their feet cheering, “but now that we’ve done our graphical update, I’m going to go back once more, and talk to the top of the technical artists and character modellers and discuss it. I will promise you that.” He’s really an asset to this fan base, eh?

Yoshi-P then stands up and gestures to his own behind, trying to warn folks about a potential monkey’s paw situation. Having a booty too large could mess with the game in ways the community is perhaps unprepared for, he notes.
“That said, I want to say one thing. Making the butt large, say [you] had a sword sheath on your side or you had a cape hanging behind your back, and if the butt is larger than it’s supposed to be it’s gonna stick out and you’re gonna see some clipping.”
In fairness, just look at the thunderous applause and standing ovations Yoshi-P received after simply acknowledging a possible butt slider. I’m not sure fans who are clamouring for a virtual big butt this loudly would be too peeved about seeing their cheeks poke through their weapons or capes.
Final Fantasy 14’s Yoshi-P has considered a single-player version of the MMO because some fans think “an online Final Fantasy is not a Final Fantasy”
