Since arriving at the station of our lives in mid-2025, Train Sim World 6 has been expanded with lots of new DLCs. Looking back at how the series has grown and morphed over the years, it’s cool to see how much the relatively simple concept at its heart has been developed. Whether you’ve been riding the rails since the series’ origins in 2017, or have yet to taste the sweet nectar of train simulation, it’s well worth taking a peep at the Train Sim World 6 Humble Bundle, which includes the base game and seven DLCs at 89% off, with 50% discounts thrown in for its bigger editions.

So, seasoned train heads – what does Train Sim World 6 have to offer that its many prequels didn’t? Well, the first and most obvious answer to that question is that you get new tracks and new trains. One of them, the Exeter-to-Plymouth and Paignton Riviera Line in Devon, England, is particularly exciting to me, because it’s a train line I’ve had the pleasure of riding in reality. I remember thinking “gosh, what a beautiful route” at the time, and the game has successfully captured the majesty of this oceanside journey.

The visuals in general in this game are superb – not that Train Sim World 5 looked bad, but you can see everything is just slightly more pristine. Although that does have the unfortunate downside of making pop-in look more noticeable. It’s not the end of the world (practically every game does it, after all), but you’ve got something that looks almost photo-realistic, it feels a little more jarring. Not a new Train Sim World problem, but, you know, critique where critique is due, and all that.

Other new additions include the US Morristown route and a new version of the Bahnstrecke Leipzig-to-Dresden line in Germany, which long-time fans will be pleased to see getting a new lease of life here. This game also adds train announcements, just like those you’d hear while taking a trip IRL. It might seem like a very small thing, but it goes a long way towards helping make the experience more immersive (and relaxing). There’s a weird, almost ASMR quality to hearing them, and though I’d never have complained about their absence in the older games, I think “Gosh, what a good idea, why didn’t they do that sooner?”

As for the DLCs, I won’t go over all of them in detail, but some standouts include the Flying Scotsman (who doesn’t love that iconic steam train?) and a remastered edition of the Great Western Express (a route between London and Reading in England – I’m quite partial to the UK ones). Here’s a full list of everything in the Train Sim World 6 First Class Ticket Bundle:

    • Train Sim World 6
    • San Barnardio line DLC
    • Flying Scotsman DLC
    • UK East Coast Mainline DLC
    • Holiday Train Pack DLC
    • Diesel Legends of the Great West DLC
    • Pfalzische Ludwigsbahn DLC
    • Great Western Express Remastered DLC
    • 50% off the Deluxe, Standard, and Deluxe editions of the game

At the end of the day, Train Sim World’s formula isn’t something that will appeal to everyone. If you don’t like driving trains back and forth, then you probably won’t like it – and even some old fans are a bit unhappy with the new random faults feature in this one (more realism, less fun), but if you’ve been on the fence about giving the series a try, this Humble Bundle is a great place to start since you’re getting loads of stuff for just $15 /£13.40.

If you enjoyed the new Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor game, you might also enjoy going back to see the seed from which that flower grew (it’s based on a Train Sim World 6 DLC, which is sadly not included in this bundle).

This bundle is available until Friday, May 8. Humble Bundle has done similar bundles in the past, so you might get another chance in the future if you miss it – but it’ll probably be quite a while, so it makes sense to grab it now.
